Rumor of Xbox 360 SKU with Motion Controller

Recently there's been plenty of talk about the Xbox 360 price drops. The cheapest SKU out now; the Xbox 360 Arcade is said to go down to $200, which would make it the cheapest current generation console. Now rumor has it that it will also include a motion controller in its package. The Arcade SKU is said to include the usual arcade games, a 512MB memory card, the forthcoming Fall Dashboard Update preinstalled, and the motion controller as well as motion controlled games developed by Rare. It is said to release sometime in the Holiday 2008 season, but this leaves us wondering if this rumored SKU will be the same $200 rumored SKU said to be released in September.

It is said the motion controller will be sold separately and will be bundled along with a wider variety of games. No word on the price or release date has been confirmed yet.

Review: dreamGEAR PS3 Shadow Wireless Controller

I stated in a past review that people prefer the Xbox 360 controller to the PS3's Dualshock. While this statement is controversial in regards to the fact it will always be up for debate and comes down to personal preference, it appears yet another company that makes gaming peripherals agrees. Presenting the PS3 Shadow Wireless Controller made by dreamGEAR. While the Shadow Wireless falls short of being a direct 360 controller clone, it is without a doubt a great, albeit it pricey, alternative for those looking for a different controller to use with their PS3.

Halo fan banned from Xbox Live until 10,000AD

The fan, who describes himself as an achievement whore and has a GamerScore of over 61,000, goes by the name Scar. He told GameSpot that he was given the Halo 3 Epsilon test build by a friend and used a glitch, known as the two-controller exploit, to get the game into his account.

Microsoft rival to Wii Remote planned for 2008 release?

The Nintendo Wii and its motion-sensitive Wii Remote controller have, undeniably, taken the videogame world by storm since their arrival in late 2006. Sony, meanwhile, has failed to ignite a similar level of excitement with its tilt-responsive SixAxis controller for the PlayStation 3, which leaves Microsoft the only player of the big 3 left to jump on the motion-control bandwagon. However, if a report discovered today is to be believed, Bill Gates company has plans to release a Wii Remote rival for the Xbox 360 by the end of the year.

While nothing has been officially announced as yet, a source has divulged to MTV News that Microsoft, in partnership with Rare, has been working on a controller that does everything the Wii Remote does - and more - since August last year.

MoGo Dapter: World's Smallest Bluetooth Adapter

Newton Peripherals has revealed a device that is believed to be the smallest Bluetooth adapter ever: the MoGo Dapter. Newton Peripherals' engineers designed the USB adapter in such a way so that it protrudes as little as possible from the USB port, making it all the easier to keep plugged in while travelling. IMS Research and the Bluetooth Special Interest Group estimate that as many as 250 million laptops without Bluetooth support are in daily use. The MoGo Dapter offers to fill in this need and can essentially "become one with the laptop" (it's puny, see the picture below).

"The MoGo Dapter is consistent with our corporate objective of producing powerful and easy-to-use products that enable mobility on the go. Many laptop computer users refuse to use adapters of any kind, because they can catch, break off or become lost. As a result, they are not getting as much as they can from their mobile computing experience. The MoGo Dapter solves that challenge, and represents a significant step forward. We believe the ultra-low profile of the Dapter will become the standard design for adapters of all kinds, " said Matthew Westover, Newton Peripherals' President and CEO.

The MoGo Dapter will be available in Q2 2007 starting at $49.99 USD.
