Hopefully, by now you?ve seen from our posts that there are a lot of new features and work going into IE 7. As part of this update, we?re refreshing our icon and logotype. We considered more radical departures from our current logo, but blue ?e? with the ring is very recognizable and familiar to users, so we elected instead to make more subtle changes.

The new Intel processor, codename 'Yonah', announced for the 3rd of January 2006, will according to X86-secret simply be called 'Core Solo' or 'Core Duo'. Depending on the amount of cores (no way! where did they come up with that). It's more than 10 years ago since Intel created ax X86-architecture CPU that wasn't called 'Pentium'. Machines with Centrino CPU's will also get a new sticker-logo from now on, saying only 'Centrino', without the real CPU name. The amount of cores will still be mentioned on the sticker.

The Swedish court has ruled that the Pirate Bay four will receive an appeal, scheduled for November 9, 2009. The Pirate Bay four were convicted of
"assisting in making copyright content available" through their website, The Pirate Bay. The ruling had put massive fines on the Pirate Bay four,
at $3.6 million ($905,000 each) in fines and face up to one year in prison each. Since the trial, the Swedish government has ruled the four
defendants "too broke" to pay for the damages. Instead the Swedish authorities started sending cease and desist letters to one of the Pirate
Bay's ISP, bringing the website down. The website was later restored within hours of the shut down.

Today marks the end of an era, the end of The Pirate Bay tracker. The website is still up and running, but the owners of The Pirate Bay have decided
to turn off their tracker and will not be re-enabling the tracker, leaving the DHT enabled for now. With the end of The Pirate Bay, the largest
BitTorrent on the Internet, it appears that the courts have finally made an impact on pirating around the world. This makes a success for MPAA and
RIAA, finally managing to get enough service providers to disconnect The Pirate Bay, making it extremely difficult for them to relocate and keep the
site running.

17.11.2009Windows 7 Beta Testing Will Be A Windows Vista Logo Requirement
Even before Microsoft has published the first beta of Windows 7 it is

Microsoft Hardware Logo Program
Requirements Microsoft added a new provision for Logo Certification which will require every one requesting Windows Vista logo certification to

This new policy, which will become effective June 1, 2008,
says there is no requirement that you pass the Windows 7 test to get your Windows Vista Logo Certification, just that you submit it and resolve any
issue found before launch of the next OS (Windows 7).

Update on Certified for Windows Vista
Brandon LeBlanc: I caught up with Deryl McCartney, Marketing Manager for the Windows Vista Logo Program, to get a general update on Certified for
Windows Vista product as of today.
Just to re-cap: Certified for Windows Vista products are products that carry the above logo.
This logo represents a group of applications and hardware that have gone through an extensive certification process that means they work great with
Windows Vista. We want users who are looking for devices, applications, or PC components to easily be able to identify the ones that will give them
the best experience in Windows Vista today. When I go into a store looking for something for my PCs I always " look for the logo ".
As
of April, we currently have over 5,000 products that are Certified for Windows Vista. Since last July, the amount of Certified for Windows Vista
products has almost doubled! As you can see - we've seen quite a bit of growth with new Certified for Windows Vista products entering the market.

Apple causes legal distress over revamped Woolworths logo
Halfway through last year, the company Woolworths Supermarkets announced that it was going to revamp its logo, in addition to making some other
changes, altering the entire corporate branding strategy. The company chose an "an abstract leaf symbol" as the new logo, hoping things would be
fine… but unfortunately, they weren't, particularly for Apple, Inc. AppleInsider has reported that the Cupertino-based company Apple,
known mostly for the the iPod, the Mac, and the iPhone, believes Woolworths' logo is far too similar to its own, wanting it to be changed.
Apple's had a history of legal battles with other companies over logo similarities, though it's expected for a company to want to defend its

the Swedish police are

the four web site owners could face stiffer penalties. The owners behind The Pirate Bay may see bank accounts frozen if the money is not paid soon,
putting The Pirate Bay in a rough spot, especially if they cannot afford to pay their monthly server fees to keep the web site online.
