The Windows team posted today, to many people's surprise, the official, final name of the new operating system.
The verdict:
Windows 7.
Microsoft is going to actually use the code-name of the OS as the final name also. I would expect the
kernel version to be bumped to 7.0 as a result of this (it's currently 6.1).

As promised, Microsoft has made the final Windows Server 2008 R2 bits available on August 14
