Google street view is not only helpful but it has produced many quality blunders that keep us coming back for more. In the latest edition of a Google

pictures are looking straight up. Google must have a good sense of humor as it tends to leave these kinds of pictures live.

our goal is to identify and facilitate the development of enhancements that bring the advantages of desktop apps to the web platform.

26.10.2007At last, a bridge between Windows Home Server and Media Center
With this week's release of Power Pack 2 for Home Server, Microsoft is filling a very important gap. Up until recently, the company had been
maintaining that the place for users to store videos and multimedia was on their Media Center computers (generally Windows Vista Ultimate-based
systems), and the place for their "everyday files" was their Home Server. But the biggest and most cumbersome "everyday files" are multimedia
files, including those that deserve to be streamed and accessed by Media Center. While setting up Media Center to include a Home Server folder as one
of its "watch folders" is one option for getting files listed, that's not as rich as setting up a streaming connection...

Windows places them in a separate order which it thinks to be right and then I move that shortcut icon to its appropriate group.

05.02.2009Windows Search 4.0 vs. Google Desktop 5.5
Brad Linder: Microsoft released an
updated version of Windows
Search, its free desktop search client the other day. And while there are dozens of excellent desktop search clients, including a few good free
ones, it seems inevitable that people are going to compare Windows Search to Google Desktop. Because you know, any time either company releases

Anyway, we've been
using Windows Search for the past few days and we thought we'd let you know how it stacks up against Google Desktop. Read on for the results.

28.08.2008D-Link Announces HD Media Streaming to TV
D-Link announced the Xtreme N
Media Bridge, capable of
wirelessly streaming
high-definition content from a
PC to an HD-capable TV, today
at the WinHEC conference in
LA. The company plans to
release the Xtreme N Media
Bridge, model number DAP1555,
in Q3 this year for under
$200. The setup uses a
pair of devices that each
looks much like a regular
wireless router, with two
antennas.
One
device connects to your home
router with an Ethernet cable,
and the other to a
TV-attached, Ethernet-capable
device such as a game console.
Microsoft demonstrated using
the Media Bridge to play a
movie in today's conference

D-Link says it will work with
other devices. The devices use

Microsoft's new Rally feature
for easy network discovery and
setup in Vista.

03.02.20092009: Linux and the desktop
Choosing a desktop platform usually involves the choice between Windows or Macintosh. There are a few factors which people consider when they are
choosing a desktop platform. In no particular order, people want application compatibility, stability, security, performance, and ease of use. When
we look at desktop market share, we can see the following (as of statistics reported in October of 2008): Windows boasts the lead with 91% market
share, down 5% from March of 2003. Mac holds 6% market share, an increase of 4% from March, 2003. Finally, Linux has doubled its market share since
2003 with a current 4%.
