10.08.2006Crysis demo un-postponed, out now
You know how the Crysis demo was supposed to be delayed until tomorrow? Well, as it turns out, Crytek and EA have decided to release the demo one day
"early," effectively un-postponing it. The demo
is available on
FileShack, and it will eventually go up on Nvidia's
Nzone
website, as well.
As we explained earlier, the demo includes "Contact," the first level from the full game's single-player
campaign. Crytek has also tossed in its Sandbox 2 in-game editor, giving modders a chance to sharpen their mod-sticks before the full game comes out
on November 16.

27.10.2007Crysis Demo FUBAR
Rock-Paper-Shotgun reports that hackers have
reduced the Crysis demo to
ashes. Someone discovered that a whole bunch of stuff, including lots of formerly-locked vehicles and guns, can be made available in the demo map
with a few tweaks, downloadable from the RPS link.
Whether this was an oversight on the part of the Crytek developers who created
the demo or just dumb luck is up in the air. Crytek folks didn't immediately respond to requests for comments. The dudes at
Blues News helpfully point out that exploiting the demo might spoil the game for those who
plan to buy it, so hack at your own risk.

24.10.2007Crysis demo performance in-depth
Crysis is a highly anticipated first person shooter developed exclusively for the PC by Crytek, the makers of the award-winning Far Cry. The demo
offers PC gamers a quick look at what will possibly be the most advanced FPS ever created, you just have to swallow the huge 1.8GB download first. Im
sure many will agree that the demo is well worth the download though, offering the entire first level of the game which represents "roughly 45
minutes" of pure gameplay.
Today we are going to see how the various mid-range and high-end graphics cards handle this new and
exciting first person shooter. There will also be some brief visual quality comparisons along with some CPU scaling and DX9 vs. DX10 performance
charts. The single-player demo supports both DX10 and DX9 rendering in Vista while Windows XP users are limited to DX9. While the game has been said
to include 64-bit support, the demo can only be run in 32-bit mode, so there are no 32-bit vs. 64-bit comparisons just yet.

the build will be made available to testers within the next 48 hours. In the email, Microsoft also mentioned their website where it has placed a
