Windows 7 build 7077 leaks

According to several reports from Neowin members, Windows 7 build 7077 has leaked to various torrent sites. Named as an RC escrow build it's likely that 7077.0.090404-1255 is the RC that will be modified to 7100 and distributed widely in May. Microsoft confirmed the 7100 path yesterday on its Engineering Windows 7 blog by advising users to modify the MinClient build number from 7100 to 7000 in order to enable beta to RC upgrades. It is now expected that Microsoft will name 7100 as the RC build and builds 7105 onwards will be the ongoing development branched towards RTM.

Windows 7 Build 7105 to be RC... public release in 3 days!

jcxp.net - 08.04.2009

Windows 7 RC completed, build 7100

Company insiders and Wzor have confirmed that 7100 is the official Windows 7 RC build. 7100.0.winmain_win7rc.090421-1700 was compiled on Tuesday and has reportedly been handed out to OEM partners and TAP gold customers. Earlier this month we reported that build 7077 had leaked online and that Microsoft were pushing towards a 7100 RC release. Microsoft recently published details about a public RC due for May 5th. We expect MSDN/TechNet customers to receive the bits within the next week if the company is still targeting May 5th. According to reports, 7115.0.winmain.090421-1650 is the latest build internally at the time of writing.

Windows 7 Build 7077 x64 leaks!

jcxp.net - 10.04.2009

Reports: Windows 7 has reached build 7079

Wzor is once again reporting that the Windows 7 winmain_win7rc branch has reached 7079. Yesterday build 7077 leaked via BitTorrent and we speculated this could be the build that would be "renamed" to 7100 for the RC. It appears that isn't the case and Microsoft has built 7078.0.090406-1758 and 7079.0.090407-1902 over the last few days. We still expect Microsoft to name the RC build shortly and all bets are on 7100. Last month Microsoft hinted at a May public release for the RC.

Windows 7 Starter Edition details confirmed

As was reported here on Neowin, there was speculation that Microsoft were planning to remove the application limit on Windows 7 Starter Edition. According to The Windows Blog, Microsoft have confirmed that the "3 applications at a time" limit that hobbled earlier versions of the Starter Edition has been removed for Windows 7. Now the only effective limit on the number of programs you can run concurrently is set by the amount of your memory. Windows 7 Starter Edition will have other limits, however, in order to differentiate it from other versions of the OS. "Windows 7 Starter does not include: * Aero Glass, meaning you can only use the "Windows Basic" or other opaque themes.

Windows 7 build 7229 leaked

Another Windows 7 build has leaked. This time it's build 7229. Sources are indicating that unless there is a leak internally from Microsoft, this would be last build leaked before the RTM. The build string is 7229.0.090604-1901 meaning that it was compiled a week ago. Earlier this week, build 7227 leaked to the public. Initial reports indicate that you can not use your RC keys with this build, so if you want to activate properly you should not upgrade to this build. Windows 7 is still on track for a July RTM, and it's possible that it may even RTM by the end of June. Microsoft has announced that it will be available in stores October 22nd.

Windows 7 Build 7106 leaked

Somebody please get a plumber over to Redmond, because there's a constant leak happening all over the place. What's on the menu this time? Windows 7, as per usual, this time in build 7106 flavor, both x86 and x64 variations. This is confirmed, by various Neowin members and other trustworthy sources. The screenshot of the build isn't, as you can see, in English but there are apparently English versions that have been leaked, judging by the following build strings: 7106.0.090408-1623_x86fre_client_en-us_Retail_Ultimate-GRC1CULFRER_EN_DVD.iso 7106.0.090408-1623_x64fre_client_en-us_Retail_Ultimate-GRC1CULXFRER_EN_DVD.iso It's unclear if this is the RC candidate build, or if Microsoft intends to progress further with their builds, but only time will tell.

Trojan Remover 6.5.5

Trojan Remover was written to aid in the removal of Trojan Horses and Internet Worms when standard anti-virus software has either failed to detect the problem or is unable to effectively eliminate it. The majority of Virus and Trojan Scanners are well able to detect malicious Trojan Horses and Internet Worms but are not always very efficient in removing them once they have been triggered.Trojan Remover was written specifically to carry out such a removal without the user having to manually edit system files, including the Registry. The program also removes the additional system modifications some Trojans carry out which are ignored by other Virus and Trojan Scanners. You can download a free fully-working evaluation copy of Trojan Remover by clicking on the download link below. The program will work for a full 30 days, after which it will expire - registration costs $29.00.

Changes in this version

* Converted helpfiles to HTMLHelp for Windows Vista compatability.
* Minor bug-fixes.
