have said you want to know exactly when you will be able to get your hands on RTM.
Last Monday, I gave an update on RTM to close
out some myths. In that update, I also gave a broad timeline on when different groups of people “ or śaudiencesť “ would get the final RTM code.
While I have nothing new to add regarding RTM today, I do however have more precise information to give on when you will be able to
get RTM. Again, when you can get RTM depends on who you are.

flagship desktop and server operating systems. With the completion of this development phase, industry partners are readying products in time for the
Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 worldwide general launches. Windows 7 will be generally available to customers around the world on October 22,
and Windows Server 2008 R2 will be generally available on or before that date. As always, current customers of the Windows Volume Licensing program,
Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) subscribers and TechNet subscribers will be among the first to get customer access to Windows 7 and Windows Server
2008 R2 in the

IT managers in North America

year ago. Just 64.8 percent

RTMd on Wednesday, I posted that OEMs would receive the RTM code within a few days. Well, its been a few days! Earlier today, a handful of OEMs
arrived in Redmond to pick up their RTM code. In the past when a Windows release reaches RTM, we have traditionally given some/selected OEMs the
opportunity to come to Redmond and pick up the RTM code personally. I thought it would be neat to showcase these OEMs that came to campus today as the
RTM code is handed off to them to begin preparing for General Availability (GA) on October 22, 2009!

Beginning last week (July 1st to be exact) - existing Windows Live OneCare users (paid subscribers) began automatically receiving Windows Live OneCare
2.5. The Windows Live OneCare website also began offering Windows Live OneCare 2.5 for new users as well. If you are a Windows Live OneCare subscriber

Asus debuts netbook with Windows 7 and 512GB SSD
Asus has debuted an ultra thin netbook S121 running Windows 7 and the worlds largest 512GB solid state drive(SSD). The S121 netbook is equipped with a
1.33GHz Intel Atom microprocessor and uses their touch mode software on Windows 7. This is a huge step for Windows 7 considering that Windows Vista
is not a good option for netbooks. The netbook is expected to be available in a month, but without Windows 7. Windows 7 will be available once it hits
