Upgrade Your Site's Authentication with the New ASP.NET 2.0 Membership API
In its first release, ASP.NET introduced forms authentication. This provided a powerful framework for handling user authentication in a secure fashion and with an easy-to-use API. The core of forms authentication hasn't changed in ASP.NET 2.0, so most of the tricks and techniques remain usable. However, a lot of work has been done in ASP.NET 2.0 to expose a new membership system that makes it even easier to create more powerful systems for user authentication and management. When you explore the basics of the provider model (upon which this new membership system is based) and its tight integration with forms authentication, you'll inevitably wonder: how does this affect my existing code and database of users and roles?

31.10.2009Bing cashback exploit discovered, Microsoft sends in lawyers
A Bing cashback vulnerability has been discovered by Samir Meghani of the Bountii Team. The flaw exists due to a software API oversight that allows
users to fake transactions to Bing. Currently, Bing does not detect these faked transactions. The flaw affects both the customer and merchant.
According to Samir, in his original posting, "merchants have a few options for reporting, but Bing suggests using a tracking pixel. Basically, the
merchant adds a tracking pixel to their order confirmation page, which will report the the transaction details back to Bing." Samir detailed that the
process was flawed but didn't pin point exactly how to generate fake transactions. Bing Cashback is an initiative that pays people to search with
Bing.

You can also use it to compare things such as flight information, maps or different shopping websites.

Everybody knows about Microsoft's recent re-branding and re-engineering of Live Search, Bing, and how it has recently become available for the
public to use. There was certainly a big fuss kicked up over this; there was an immense amount of speculation about 'Kumo' beforehand, and
many people had their own ideas on what it could be. Now that everything is cleared up, the initial launch hype has died down a bit, and the rumors
are gone, the question remains... how will Bing do against Google? Or, perhaps just as importantly... how do Google feel about it?
