Inside look at Facebook's new headquarters, 'the bunker'
Facebook recently moved into new headquarters at a building formerly owned by HP in California, USA. The team over at TechCrunch were lucky enough to
get a glimpse of the new working environment. The new headquarters is located at Palo Alto, California. The company used to base its HQ across a
collection of buildings which housed 1,000 employees. As Facebook has grown, the need for a campus has increased and all employees have now moved to
the new base named "the bunker" by Facebook workers. The HQ is 150,000 square feet and is a building that used to be owned by HP and used as a lab.

16.06.2009Live Search QnA moves to MSN platform
Back in 2005 Windows Live was announced and many products were moved from the MSN platform to the Windows Live platform. New products and services
were announced including Windows Live QnA. The service name explains it all. Windows Live QnA is a community of users from around the globe asking and
answering about anything and everything. When the Windows Live QnA beta first launched it was it's own service on the Windows Live platform, but
then moved to the Live Search platform and is now known as Live Search QnA. The move helped gain thousands of new contributors engaging in the
community.

18.02.2009Neowin Upgrade to IP.Board 2.2.1
We are in the process of
porting over to Invision Power
Board 2.2.1. This will take
place on the live site
shortly.
The new
version of IP.Board brings
more new features and we have
also successfully moved over
our own enhancements like
member-name (color) formatting
across the board and news
comments. The auto-warn
reduction system has also been
re-implemented.
We
have spent the time testing
and porting over our board
theme and hacks at our beta
site and we are confident that
everything is ready to be
moved over. This does not
include Shift for the forums,
this project will be restared
after the upgrade to 2.2.1.
Timan has done a
fantastic job of porting over
Swift (the default board
theme) it is lighter and more
compliant and literally
everything has been taken into
account. We have also even got
a new default button set
thanks to our coder Rob.
So if you see the
board offline between now and
the 1st of January, the reason
is due to this upgrade.
Thanks for your
patience on this matter.

21.06.2008Vaulted data center tests Windows Server 2008
For one local IT services company, an unused bank vault became the ideal secure site for a new data center to enter the hosting market.
Australia-based Networking Plus Pty. moved into an old Commonwealth Bank of Australia branch. It converted a large vault into a modern data
center with overhead cabling and fully redundant air conditioning.
Infrastructure manager Robert Warren said Networking Plus
moved into hosting when the new data center went live in July 2007. "It's certainly secure, as the door takes two people to move," Warren said. The
power service is also top-notch, since the building shares the same grid as an adjacent hospital, he said.
