Firefox 2.0, which they can

To use it, just use the
"–enable-sync" command line flag.
Note that this only seems to be working for Windows users, according to TechCrunch:
"Bookmark management appears to have been temporarily disabled on the latest versions of Chromium for Mac, after they were first turned on
last week. When they come back, hopefully this syncing will work for Macs as well. To stay up-to-date on the latest versions of Chromium for Mac,
check out our updater tool."
According to Google, the bookmarks are stored on your Google account and are synced via the jesus protocol
XMPP.

The reason it's called "beta testing" is to anticipate and isolate problems. But a big problem reported by some -- not all -- Vista SP1 testers is
causing Microsoft to take a step back.
The regular update cycle for testers of Windows Vista Service Pack 1 was suspended yesterday
afternoon, following multiple reports of downloaders discovering their automatically updating computers stuck in an endless cycle of reboots. This
would mark the second time in two months that pockets of testers reported such a problem.
The first wave of endless reboots was initially
reported on January 27 to Microsoft's forums. "Every time I start the computer it says: Configurating updates: stage 3 of 3 - 0% complete," reads
the initial post. "And then reboots, and reboots, and reboots...I had it rebooting for over an hour before I stopped the madness."

couldn't actually find a
changelog between 7.0 and 7.5
but as the above press release
indicates they have released
six new versions of AVG
Anti-virus bringing it up to
fifteen different varieties of
product so if Vista product
versions have you confused you
better sit down.
I
installed 7.5 Professional as
I bought a licence as a
fallback for Symantec making
Norton more horrible than the
previous incarnation, I just
snapped. The interface in 7.5
is slightly different and has
joined the 21st century, I
haven't checked it out with
Windows Vista yet (5728 will
be checked) so will update
this post with its progress as
the 7.0 updater had issues
with Vista, although seems to
be fine if UAC is not
active.
There is no
estimated release date for the
free version at the moment.

The ongoing "Vista Capable" class-action lawsuit against Microsoft took an interesting turn the other day when an expert witness for the plaintiffs
claimed that the Redmond company made more than $1.5 billion through their "Vista Capable" marketing campaign. The origins of the trial itself
are to be found in the months prior to Vista's release when many computers were sold with Windows XP and the promise that they would be capable of
running Vista. However, many of these PCs, which sold at a premium and bore the "Vista Capable" label, turned out to be only capable of running
Vista Basic. Hence, Microsoft is being sued for what many would call false advertising.

Microsoft took a three pronged approach to their booth this year. They decided to focus on Vista (again), Games for Windows, and Windows Mobile.
Surprisingly, the Xbox 360 and Halo 3 were not highlighted in the least bit.
It actually surprised me to see Microsoft pushing Vista so
hard, still. Compared to last year, before Vista was released, this year's Vista display was even larger and more in your face. There were more

01.10.2007Microsoft To Unveil Live Suite This Week
Looks like Microsoft is ready to unveil its promised Windows Live suite this week.
Microsoft officials said in June they would
make a common installer and updater available for a handful of its Windows Live services. According to story in The New York Times, the products in
the suite will be: Windows Live Messenger 8.5, Windows Live Hotmail, Windows Live Photo Gallery and Windows Live OneCare Family Safety. (The Times is
unclear whether Windows Live Writer is in there, too. But it looks like it might be.)
The Times describes the suite as "the
first full release of Windows Live that is intended to produce a 'relatively seamless' experience between the different services and applications."
With the suite, Microsoft is hoping to get users of its more popular Live Hotmail and Live Messenger to try out other members of
its Live family. Company officials have said they plan to enable the Windows Live family to make use of more common facilities (like a shared Live
Contacts list) and to integrate more tightly with one another over time.

Even after the release of Windows 7, it looks like Microsoft won't be quick to ditch Vista according to Computer World. Microsoft plans to
continue selling Vista until January 2011. However, they will drop support for Vista in less than 3 years. This seems to go against an earlier hint
by a Microsoft General Manager that the company would get rid of Vista as soon as Windows 7 was released. However, Microsoft not ditching Vista as
soon as Windows 7 is released shouldn't come as a surprise. It's a company policy to keep an OS in distribution for 4 years after its debut.
