The European Union launched an investigation today into U.S. laws on Internet gambling, after European betting companies complained that
Washington's actions against them were infringing world trade rules. Online gambling is a growing business, worth potentially $15.5 billion
this year alone, and although the US has banned the practice, many European sites want a piece of the American market. The sites claim that the ban,
which stops American banks and credit card companies from processing payments to online gambling companies outside the country, discriminates against
them while allowing domestic gambling companies, especially those on horse races, to flourish.
" The U.S. has the right to address
legitimate public policy concerns relating to Internet gambling, but discrimination against EU companies cannot be part of the policy mix, " said
EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson, who stated he hoped the issue could be resolved amicably. Officials at the U.S. mission to the EU declined to
comment, directing inquiries to the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative in Washington.

the game.
The fan, who describes himself as an achievement whore and has a GamerScore of over 61,000, goes by the name śScarť. He
told
GameSpot that he was given the Halo 3 Epsilon
test build by a friend and used a glitch, known as the two-controller exploit, to get the game into his account.
śI downloaded it
from Marketplace and played it for maybe six hours or so all alone,ť he said.
After this period, it kicked him off Xbox Live
every time he tried to play the test build and it wasnt until the following morning that he found he had been banned...

Singapore has banned a Microsoft Corp video game which contains a scene showing a human woman and an alien woman kissing and caressing each other, a
local newspaper reported on Thursday. The Straits Times said "Mass Effect" -- a highly anticipated futuristic space adventure game from Microsoft --
was banned by Singapore's Media Development Authority.
In October, Singapore's parliament decided to keep a ban on sex between
men, and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said that the city-state should keep its conservative values and not allow special rights for homosexuals.
Singapore is the only country to have banned the game, so far, and it is the first Microsoft video game to be banned in the
city-state, The Straits Times said.
