UK spent 6.6 billion on new ID's, didnt buy one card reader

Like any new ID card program it is designed to help enhance security for everyone from public officials to private citizens. The problem is that there is not one card reader in the entire country, not at any police station, customs locations, anywhere in the entire country. It would be understandable if the government had a plan to purchase card readers but it does not. "We have always said that we would roll out the scheme incrementally. The card will not be as useful as it could be until we have got the volumes out there.

Google Reader Gets New Features

Sean P. Aune: Never one to rest on their laurels, Google Operating System alerts us to some changes Google has made to their popular RSS app, Google Reader.

The time stamp you’ve always seen in the reader is the time that Google indexed the article, not the time it was published. Windows 7 Beta 1 has problems with XP Display Drivers (XDDM)

I've been enjoying Windows 7 so much over the past week, that I've been evangelizing it to all of my friends. One friend with a Dell Inspiron 710m decided to take the plunge. Windows 7 installation went well, but we can't find any compatible display drivers for the Intel 855gm graphics card. The graphics card in question doesn't support Windows Vista or Window 7's new WDDM driver model, but Windows Vista shipped with XDDM drivers for this card out of the box. I feel that Windows 7 should have all of the same in-box drivers as Vista, and it's a bummer that this one is not included.
