Compatibility Issues When Surfing in IE7? Use User Agent String Utility to Spoof or Simulate as IE6
Although almost all websites has supported Internet Explorer 7 (IE7), the latest generation of popular web browser from Microsoft, but there are still some very few Internet sites that are still not updating the web server configuration for Internet Explorer 7 compatibility, and are not accessible by IE7 users and blocked the Internet surfers from viewing the web pages properly when using IE 7.

23.4.2008How to check your Hotmail in Safari (3 or) 4
Like a lot of other issues with Hotmail and non-IE browsers, you just need to change the User Agent string to fool Hotmail into thinking it is dealing

from session to session, so you would need to reset the User Agent for each new session that you want to check your Hotmail account.

Jason Cox: As Dean

11.08.2009Exploit Out for Critical Microsoft Agent Flaw
An exploit that attacks a critical Microsoft Agent vulnerability was published less than 24 hours after Microsoft released a relevant security
advisory in its Sept. 11 Patch Tuesday set of releases. The security advisory for Microsoft Agent, MS07-051, was the only critical release out of four
security advisories. It addresses a vulnerability whereby the Microsoft Agent-a set of software services for developers to enhance the user interface
of Web-based applications-can get hoodwinked by a malicious URL and can then be used to take over a targeted system without ever appearing to the
user.
Microsoft Agent (agentsvr.exe) is prone to the stack-based buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to adequately bound check
user-supplied data. The issue occurs when the "agentdpv.dll" ActiveX control processes maliciously craft URLs, resulting in memory corruption. If
the exploit succeeds, the attacker gains system control. If it fails, a denial-of-service occurs.

31.08.2005Stuck on IE6? Gmail's got your back.
Like many companies, the company I work for is mainly IE6. The older machines are running Windows 2000 and some of our clients applications
(applications we have no control over) don't work with IE7.
We recently tested Gmail Apps to use for the majority of our agents and one
of the biggest problems with the web interface was the lack of features that are available in other browsers. With the newest version of Gmail, this
is a problem of the past.
Gmail has been working with IE engineers at Microsoft to fix some of the problems they found with their code and
how it works with IE6. In order to see these changes you will need to install the latest updates from Microsoft (or specifically the update described
in
MS08-022).
New confirmed features for
IE6 users include colored labels, invisible mode and Gmail Labs. With Google trying to compete in the enterprise email sector I believe this is a
step in the right direction. What do you think about this change?

the company spelled out. In a revised security advisory, Microsoft said research confirmed that the bug is within all its browsers, including those
it currently supports -- IE5.01, IE6 and IE7 -- as well as IE8 Beta 2, a preview version that the company doesn't support through normal channels.

It is known that the European Commission(EC) is considering forcing Microsoft to bundle rival browsers alongside IE in the Windows OS. It is likely
that this is based on a complaint filed by Opera which condemned Microsoft for browser monopoly and urged Microsoft to follow fundamental and open Web
standards. In an interview with The Register, Hakon Wium Lie, Opera Software CTO, outlined 2 possible options in his view that could work if EC makes
it mandatory for Microsoft to deliver browsers of user's choice. He suggested that either: An Automatic Update download agent to get user's
preference before the browser gets installed, (or) Display the available range of browsers and get user preference to run a specific browser.
