28.11.2007FastCGI Extension for Internet Information Services 6.0
The FastCGI Extension for IIS 6.0 enables popular application frameworks that support FastCGI protocol to be hosted on the IIS web server in a
high-performance and reliable way. FastCGI provides a high-performance alternative to the Common Gateway Interface (CGI), a standard way of
interfacing external applications with Web servers that has been supported as part of the IIS feature-set since the very first release.
CGI programs are executables launched by the web server for each request in order to process the request and generate dynamic responses that
are sent back to the client. Because many of these frameworks do not support multi-threaded execution, CGI enables them to execute reliably on IIS by
executing exactly one request per process. Unfortunately, it provides poor performance due to the high cost of starting and shutting down a process
for each request.
FastCGI addresses the performance issues inherent to CGI by providing a mechanism to reuse a single process
over and over again for many requests. Additionally, FastCGI maintains compatibility with non-thread-safe libraries by providing a pool of reusable
processes and ensuring that each process will only handle one request at a time.

11.11.2007Microsoft Application Request Routing for IIS 7 CTP1 Released
Application Request Routing for IIS7 is a proxy based routing module that forwards HTTP requests to content servers based on HTTP headers and server
variables, and load balance algorithms. Application Request Routing can be used to:
- Increase application availability and
scalability.
- Better utilize content server resources.
- Facilitate application deployment including pilot management and A/B testing.
- Lower management costs and create opportunities for shared hosters.
Application Request Routing relies on URL rewrite module to
inspect the incoming HTTP requests to make the routing decisions, and therefore, the URL rewrite module is required to enable Application Request
Routing features.

state that Emara has been charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault after an online posting requesting a hitman to attack his ex-girlfriend

stating that whomever was to take the job would be expect to "hit the woman in the knee with a blunt object, preferably a baseball bat and
permanently scar her face". The payment was to be for the sum of $5,000.

Dutch police request Malware removal How-To?
The Dutch High Tech Crime Unit identified a large botnet when they arrested a 19 year old Dutch man last week. The Unit asked Kaspersky Lab, a leading
developer of secure content management solutions, to provide the victims with instructions on how to neutralize the malware on their systems;
neutralizing the malware ultimately brings down the botnet. This is an excellent example of the close co-operation which exists between the antivirus
industry and law enforcement.
At the request of the Dutch police, Kaspersky Lab created detailed instructions on how to remove the malware.
The Dutch police have pointed victims towards a page on the Kaspersky Lab website which contains the removal instructions, and also to a website which
gives victims the opportunity to make a formal complaint to the police. Eddy Willems, Security Evangelist with Kaspersky Lab Benelux, who worked
closely with the High Tech Crime Unit, believes this case clearly illustrates how the security industry can help law enforcement in the fight against
cybercrime. A spokesperson for the Public Prosecution Service agrees: "The Public Prosecution Service and the police worked together with Kaspersky
Lab on this case with full contentment".
