couple used the trojan for monetary gain but authorities did not disclose how much money was stolen. The trojan installed itself on victims computers
using social engineer techniques. Generally the trojan would mask itself as a reputable website such as a bank, credit card company or tax office to
get the victim to install the software. "Once installed, the Zbot Trojan injects itself into the victim's Web browser and monitors all

27.02.2008Trojan, distributed over torrent, blocks torrent sites
A trojan named Troj/Qhost-AC, has been spotted on torrent sites labeled as a keygen for popular software. But in a strange surprise, the trojan would
modify the users host file, rather than generating a key, changing popular torrent web sites like, The Pirate Bay, Suprbay (The Pirate Bay forum) and
Mininova, the two most popular torrent sites on the internet to 127.0.0.1, making it impossible to visit these sites. The Trojan caused pop-ups on
users screens and played a sound file saying "downloading is wrong". The Trojan didn't install any other spyware or malware onto the victims
PC, other than blocking the three web sites, something that many users thought was strange.

10.01.2008Mac Trojan hits pirated copies of Adobe Photoshop
Although Apple's Macintosh environment has long been touted by its fans as "more secure" than Windows, a Trojan enabling remote control of
Mac machines struck a second time this week.
Earlier found only in illegal copies of Apple's iWork Suite, the Trojan has now turned up in
pirated copies of Adobe Photoshop for Mac OS X. Actually, the Trojan doesn't even exploit any OS vulnerability. Instead, it disguises itself as part
of the installer package for the application, so it is installed along with the application. Once installed, the malware launches a back door program,
thereby allowing an attacker to remotely conduct misdeeds such as copying data.
A tool for detecting and removing specifically this Trojan is
now available from
SecureMac.com...

20.06.2008Trojan Roaming Skype Network
Websense has issued an alert
warning that a Trojan, known
as both Warezov and Stration,
is spreading through the Skype
network again (an earlier
version initially attacked
late in February). Typical
instant messaging viruses are
successful in spreading solely
thanks to users' ignorance,
and this time is no different:
the Trojan is not taking
advantage of a vulnerability
in Skype, Websense noted.
While the code itself is not
self-propagating, when a user
opens it, a message that says
"Check up this," along with
a URL to the Trojan (a file
entitled file_01.exe) is sent
to everyone in the user's
contact list. If the user runs
the file, several other files
are downloaded and run. The
Trojan also opens a back door
in the user's computer,
enabling a hacker to get into
the machine.

carry out which are ignored by
other Virus and Trojan
Scanners. You can download a

evidence that he had written

23.02.2007Intego: Phishing trojan targets OS X
Security vendor Intego claims to have found a new trojan attack that targets Apples OS X operating system but competing security firms (McAfee,
Symantec, and Trend Micro) have yet to find samples of the trojan. Intego said that malware authors spammed Mac forums with links to pornographic
websites hosting the malware. If confirmed, the trojan would be the first piece of truly malicious software to be targeted at OS X, as opposed to the
various proof-of-concept attacks that researchers have previously developed.
The OSX.RSPlug.A trojan allegedly disguises itself as a video
codec that would provide access to a pornographic video but in reality is a piece of malware classified as a DNS Changer. The software changes the way
OS X would handle the DNS requests that are used to link numerical IP addresses to web URLs. The tool allows the attackers to redirect web traffic,
opening the door for phishing scams.

location and allows for malicious users to take over your Mac and install anything they want and modify files already on your computer.
