How to Share Large File on The Web Using MegaUploadOne of the most advantage of using MegaUpload, compare with other similar service, is the duration how long your file(s) will be kept in their server. Your uploaded files will be deleted only after it become unused for 30 days. So, if many of your friends download it, over and over again, the files will always be there. The size is quite big, up to 250MB. Not as big as YouSendIt which allow up to 1GB file size, but it's more than enough to share your music files, movies, etc.

betanews.com - 20.09.2005File Sharing Security Pitfalls
If youre a mobile PC user, you probably have a network at home. Maybe you only have one other computer connected to your home network (or maybe you
have 5 more, like me), but youd probably like to be able to share information between your various computers (for instance, sharing MP3 music files
from your desktop to your tablet PC). A common way to accomplish the task is to enable file sharing. Both Windows and Mac make it easy to access files
on one computer from another using their own flavor of file sharing. The catch, for the mobile user especially, is setting up file sharing
securely.
In the late 90s hackers developed and released various scanning tools to help them find computers connected to the
Internet with file sharing enabled. If the detected file shares were not password protected (called śopen files sharesť), the hacker tool could
automatically access the files and, in some cases, change or delete them...

betanews.com - 20.10.2008Vista file copying showdown: RTM vs SP1
Long Zheng: Copying files is the Achilles heel of Windows Vista, ścalculating time remaining¦ť the blue screen of death equivalent. If anyone tells
you Windows Vista isnt slow at copying files, then they obviously havent downloaded any DVDrips and tried to move it onto another computer. It was
anticipated Windows Vista Service Pack 1 would fix this problem amongst other things.
As announced this week, the first beta
build of SP1 (6001.16659) has been released on Microsoft Connect. The initial reaction from most tester has been largely positive noting improvements
in file operations such as moving, copying and deleting files. However I havent seen anyone post any benchmarks or evidence to prove it is indeed
faster.

betanews.com - 15.12.2005Verizon Cooperates with P2P File Sharers
Peer-to-peer file sharing, the primary vehicle for online piracy, has been as unpopular with Internet service providers as it has been popular with
users. Providers have banned, blocked or slowed peer-to-peer traffic in their efforts to keep the flood of music, video, games and software from
overwhelming their networks. But Verizon Communications Inc. has broken ranks with the industry and is set to announce Friday that it plans to help
its users share files faster -- at least those who do it legally.
At a conference in New York, the Verizon group will present test results
showing that when an ISP cooperates with a file-sharing software maker they can speed downloads an average of 60 percent -- though collaboration
boosted some downloads six-fold on fast Internet connections
"This test signifies a turning point in the history of peer-to-peer
technology and ISPs," said Robert Levitan, chief executive of file-sharing company Pando Networks Inc. "It will definitely show ISPs that the
problem is not peer-to-peer technology, the problem is how you deploy it. It is possible to deploy P2P to their advantage."

British ISP TalkTalk has staged a stunt aimed at proving to Lord Mandelson that his plans to cut-off file-sharers without due process is "naive".
The company's stunt demonstrates how innocent parties could easily be disconnected for file-sharing done without their knowledge through a
wireless Internet connection. The company, which has long been a critic of government plans to cut off file-sharers, sent a security expert to an
ordinary street in Middlesex. The expert then obtained access to 23 unsecured wireless connections on the street and downloaded music from two of the
connections.

In the last few days, certain Neowin forum members have reported that an image of Vista SP1 x86 Final has leaked to torrent sites. This file is

This release is not official, nor is it genuine. I repeat: Vista SP1 has not gone final.

betanews.com - 04.02.2006Office 2007 SP1 Installation/Slipstream Guide
Some of you may be wondering how to do a clean install of Office 2007 using an Office 2007 RTM image along with SP1 at the same time. As you may know,
Office 2007 makes use of the Updates folder in the installation media to install any new updates that it finds in the folder however updates have to
be in the .msp file format for them to be recognized. Since the Office 2007 SP1 update file is delivered in the .exe format, an extra step is required
before being able to proceed:
First, you should copy the contents of the Office 2007 RTM image to a temporary folder. For our
example we're using C:O2007Temp. We have also copied the Office 2007 SP1 Update file (office2007sp1-kb936982-fullfile-en-us.exe) to the D:
drive.
Then, using the Run command in Windows XP/Vista (WinKey+R), run the following command:
