02.08.2007Codie awards go to Red Hat, Adobe, Salesforce.com
Winners of this year's Codie awards, given by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIAA) Tuesday evening, include some familiar names in
software as well as some lesser known and new companies.
Awards were to be given out at a ceremony in San Francisco with
high-profile vendors like Red Hat, Adobe Systems, and Salesforce.com taking home prizes along with newer companies like SightSpeed. Contestants
competed in various software and information categories.
"What I think is most gratifying is the Codie awards are a
leveler and smaller companies have as much chance to win as large companies," said Ken Wasch, SIAA president. In an industry that increasingly looks
like it is dominated by a few larger players, the Codie award gives everyone a chance, he stressed.

Neowin Community Game Awards 2007 Voting
The Neowin Community Game Awards are unlike other "Best of Year" awards. Every step of the process is voted on by Neowin.net community
members. From the initial nominations to the final voting, you, the people who play the games, get to voice your opinions on which titles truly stood
out from the rest throughout the year. The NCGAs are the epitome of a "for the fans, by the fans" award.
After tallying up the
wave of submissions from the nomination round, it is now time for every one to, once again, log in and speak up. The five most nominated games were
taken from each category and were allowed to advance to the final voting round. Some categories received over 20 different nominations thanks, in
large part, to the outstanding turnout from the Neowin community.
Voting will remain open for two weeks, ending on November 20, 2007. At
that time, the results will be reviewed, the summaries written, and the winners contacted with final results being released shortly thereafter.
Thats enough from us. Now its time for you to get voting.

Neowin Community Game Awards 2007 - Nominations Begin
In 2005, we started the Neowin Community Game Awards. Unlike other "Best of Year" awards, every step of the process is voted on by the
members. From the initial nominations to the final voting, you, the people who play the games, get to voice your opinions on which titles truly stood
out from the rest. The NCGAs are the epitome of a "for the fans, by the fans" award.
The time has arrived, finally, for us to
pick up where we left off two years ago (we missed a beat in 2006). The nomination round is now upon us. In this round, all members are asked to visit
the nomination page and submit their choices for "Best of" in each category. Not a member, but want to contribute? All you have to do is register! This round will continue until October 29th, at
which point nominations will be closed and the results tallied. The five most nominated games in each category will then proceed to the final voting
round where theyll duke it out for the crown.
What else can be said? Lets get clicking and lets start nominating!
Please
only nominate games you truly feel deserve the recognition released between October 06 and October 07. You can fill in as many or few of the
categories as you like. Blank fields will be accepted as a null nomination.
