Rapidshare Search Engines to Search, Find and Download Files from RapidShare
How to Share Large File on The Web Using MegaUploadOne of the most advantage of using MegaUpload, compare with other similar service, is the duration how long your file(s) will be kept in their server. Your uploaded files will be deleted only after it become unused for 30 days. So, if many of your friends download it, over and over again, the files will always be there. The size is quite big, up to 250MB. Not as big as YouSendIt which allow up to 1GB file size, but it's more than enough to share your music files, movies, etc.

RapidShare CAPTCHA has always been hacked no matter how tough they made it. Usually whenever RapidShare updates their CAPTCHA, it only took a few days for third party download tools to auto recognize it. One of the toughest CAPTCHA was with cats and dogs in them and it took 3-4 weeks to be cracked. A few days after the cats and dogs CAPTCHA has been cracked, RapidShare installed a new CAPTCHA system called TEABAG_3D.

As ISPs constrict
file-sharing services such as BitTorrent, new data shows that users are moving to file-hosting Web sites to avoid slow downloads.
RapidShare and MegaUpload are
among the most used file-hosting services. Together, the two sites account for 9 percent of all Internet traffic in the Middle East and 4 percent in
Germany, according to iPoque, a company based in Leipzig, Germany, that specializes in traffic-management appliances for ISPs.
The percentages are significant since over the last year usage of file-sharing sites, which number in the dozens, has surged, said Klaus
Mochalski, iPoque's CEO. The sites offer potentially faster download speeds for sharing files than peer-to-peer networks.
winbeta.org - 29.11.2007Rapidshare To Be Forced to Shut Down Following Court Defeat?
The music industry in Germany has secured a legal victory over the hugely popular file-hosting service, Rapidshare. According to the rights holders,
Rapidshare is going to have to stop its users from downloading infringing music tracks from its servers, or face the prospect of being shut down.
Last week we reported on rumors that Rapidshare had, or was about to be, shut down, rumors that now look likely to resurface. The company, one of the
worlds largest ˜one-click file hosting services, has lost a copyright infringement case against German performing rights outfit, GEMA. Representing a
claimed 60,000 members and more than 1 million rights owners worldwide, GEMA has taken an aggressive stance in pursuing legal action against
Rapidshare, trying to force it to be accountable for the infringing actions of its users.

jcxp.net - 15.11.2008MIX - Novell's de Icaza criticizes Microsoft patent deal
Open-source pioneer and Novell Vice President Miguel de Icaza Thursday for the first time publicly slammed his company's cross-patent licensing
agreement with Microsoft as he defended himself against lack of patent protection for third parties that distribute his company's Moonlight project,
which ports Microsoft's Silverlight technology to Linux.
Speaking on a panel at the MIX 08 conference in Las Vegas, de Icaza
said that Novell has done the best it could to balance open-source interests with patent indemnification. However, if he had his way, the company
would have remained strictly open source and not gotten into bed with Microsoft. Novell entered into a controversial multimillion dollar cross-patent
licensing and interoperability deal with Microsoft in November 2006.

winbeta.org - 17.05.2007SCO guilty of lying about Unix code in Linux in Germany
In the United States, SCOs Linux/Unix litigation has been stalled out while the companys bankruptcy trial is being dealt with. In Germany, however,
several court cases have found SCO Group GmbH, SCOs Germany branch, guilty of lying about Linux containing stolen Unix code.
In the first
case, reported on by Heise Online, the pro-Linux
German companies, Tarent GmbH and Univention found that SCO was once more making claims that Linux contained
Unix IP (intellectual property). Specifically, SCO GmbH made the familiar claims that "As we have progressed in our discovery related to this
action, SCO has found compelling evidence that the Linux operating system contains unauthorized SCO UNIX intellectual property (IP)." This was
followed by the usual threat "If a customer refuses to compensate SCO for its UNIX intellectual property found in Linux by purchasing a license,
then SCO may consider litigation."
