Tools to Automate RapidShare Downloading for Free Users With No CAPTCHA
RapidShare CAPTCHA has always been hacked no matter how tough they made it. Usually whenever RapidShare updates their CAPTCHA, it only took a few days for third party download tools to auto recognize it. One of the toughest CAPTCHA was with cats and dogs in them and it took 3-4 weeks to be cracked. A few days after the cats and dogs CAPTCHA has been cracked, RapidShare installed a new CAPTCHA system called TEABAG_3D.

Why is Microsoft waiting for EFI? EFI Technology Preview part of Windows Vista Beta 2
For Microsoft, support for UEFI means rigorous testing on a wide-ranging mix of UEFI implementations and hardware platforms. As we learned when the industry shifted to ACPI with Windows 2000, every major PC or server manufacturer has its own firmware implementation for its own unique hardware.

23.4.2006Rapidshare To Be Forced to Shut Down Following Court Defeat?
The music industry in Germany has secured a legal victory over the hugely popular file-hosting service, Rapidshare. According to the rights holders,
Rapidshare is going to have to stop its users from downloading infringing music tracks from its servers, or face the prospect of being shut down.
Last week we reported on
rumors that Rapidshare had, or was about to be, shut down, rumors that now look likely to resurface. The company, one of the
worlds largest ˜one-click file hosting services, has lost a copyright infringement case against German performing rights outfit, GEMA. Representing a
claimed 60,000 members and more than 1 million rights owners worldwide, GEMA has taken an aggressive stance in pursuing legal action against
Rapidshare, trying to force it to be accountable for the infringing actions of its users.

29.11.2007As ISPs choke file-sharing, users look elsewhere
As
ISPs constrict
file-sharing services such as BitTorrent, new data shows that users are moving to file-hosting Web sites to avoid slow downloads.
RapidShare and
MegaUpload are
among the most used file-hosting services. Together, the two sites account for 9 percent of all Internet traffic in the Middle East and 4 percent in
Germany, according to iPoque, a company based in Leipzig, Germany, that specializes in traffic-management appliances for ISPs.
The percentages are significant since over the last year usage of file-sharing sites, which number in the dozens, has surged, said Klaus
Mochalski, iPoque's CEO. The sites offer potentially faster download speeds for sharing files than peer-to-peer networks.

16.01.2008Launch woes turn iPhone Parousia into activation apocalypse
Although the enthusiasm about waiting in line for an iPhone for days at a time was dampened a bit this time around thanks to worldwide launches
outside the US, buzz was still renewed by this morning among Apple fans. Lines had formed at Apple and AT&T stores across the country, despite last
year's revelation that there was plenty of stock to go around and no line-waiting was needed. A number of Ars staffers, as well as loyal readers and
friends, partook in iPhone Day "celebrations" in order to get a feel for the reception of the iPhone's second incarnation. Unfortunately, the
second coming of the iPhone has turned into something akin to an activation armageddon.

11.07.2008Do you know how to deploy?
James Senior: Who actually uses a DVD to deploy? Do you build PC's and sell them? Are you frustrated? Frustrated by the speed of your deployments?
Do you find yourself waiting, brewing tea waiting, wondering if... if there is a better way, a better way to deploy the one thing that holds you back.
Yes, I'm talking about your Operating System. I don't mean to be rude, but the number of people who put their hands up at roadshows when we ask
the question, "who installs their OS using DVD" is quite frankly worrying...no disturbing. Let me put it in perspective.
If
you are installing your OS, beit Windows Vista (preferably) or Windows XP by DVD then in effect you might as well install it using floppy disks.
Although technically not a fair comparison the analogy holds true.
What then is the alternative?
