07.08.2009Microsoft mouse to combine wireless, memory
Microsoft is preparing the Mobile Memory Mouse 8000, a laptop mouse which combines several important features. Above all is 1GB of internal memory,
allowing owners to treat the 8000 as a USB flash drive. The mouse also offers not one but two wireless options: Bluetooth or 2.4GHz, the latter
through the same USB port that allows file transfer. A switch flips between the two. The USB connector further offers magnetic charging through a
direct connection.
The sensor is a high-resolution laser, and added controls on the mouse include a tiltwheel and two side
buttons, assigned by default to "Magnifier" and "Back." Being a Microsoft mouse, the 8000 is immediately compatible with Windows Vista's Flip3D
interface. It should be released in October for $159.

wheels. In 1981, Xerox included a mouse with their Star computer system, and a few years later Apple offered one with their Macintosh system.
Microsoft then made it the standard device for their Windows operating system.

06.02.2008JCXP Review: Logitech MX 1100 Cordless Laser Mouse
The Logitech brand has long been associated with quality and inexpensive PC peripheral solutions. Over the years, they have redefined the way we
interact with our computers with many new innovative products and technologies. In 2004, Logitech was the first company to introduce the laser optical
mouse to the mainstream market with the MX 1000 cordless mouse.
Today, we will be giving you a glimpse into one of Logitech's latest
offerings, the MX 1100 Cordless Laser Mouse; successor to the MX 1000.
"After the success of the Logitech MX 1000, a comfortable
mouse with buttons galore, I would never have thought that Logitech could come up with a true successor. However, when hearing about the brand new MX
1100 a few months ago, I thought that this could be a perfect replacement for my aging MX 1000..." >

05.02.2009Microsoft Releases new Mouse using a BlueTrack Sensor
The Microsoft Explorer Mouse and Explorer Mini Mouse were announced today and feature a unique technology that is making its debut in these devices.
It’s called BlueTrack, and this new sensor can work on just about any surface.
In fact, BlueTrack is much more accurate on shiny
surfaces than any other tech out there right now. If you don’t like using a mouse pad and find your desk has too much of a sheen for your mouse
to accurately register, this technology should help you tremendously.
Microsoft developed this new tech, which sets it apart from the
standard Agilent Technologies licensed laser sensors that fit in most other computer mice. This one might stick with Microsoft, and if they decide to
license it, well, that would make them a bundle, especially if these two launches work out well. The Explorer Mouse will sell for $99.99 and the
Explorer Mini Mouse will sell for $79.99 once they are released this November.

supposed to be packing redesigned peripherals. Engadget has just earlier revealed the FCC filings for said input devices, confirming the existence of
both the mouse and keyboard. The revamped mouse and keyboard are touting the model numbers of A1296 and A1314 respectively, compared to the old A1197
and A1255; unfortunately, that's as juicy as details get, as Jobs and the gang will want to make their usual launch event as surprising as

25.03.2009Apple may extend multi-touch to computer mice
Apple Inc. has filed for a
patent describing a computer
mouse having a touch-sensative
shell capable of accepting
multi-touch finger gestures,
similar to the surface of the
company's iPhone handset.
"The invention
relates to a configurable
mouse with an extended sensing
surface, which provides the
mouse a customizable,
programmable or adaptable way
of generating inputs," Apple
wrote in the filing.
A "position detection
mechanism" would detect the
movement of the mouse along a
surface, while "a multipoint
touch detection mechanism"
would simultaneously gather
feedback from one or more
objects that are contacting or
in close proximity to a
substantially large portion of
the grippable mouse shell.
"The mouse additionally
includes a controller for
processing signals generated
by the position detection
mechanism and multipoint touch
detection mechanism," Apple
explained.
