Supposedly, Microsoft is supposed to be taking
over Logitech, offering 48 francs a share. Then the mouse-maker would be worth around 10 billion francs.

11.01.2008Logitech Says Any Microsoft Bid 'Without Sense'
Any takeover bid for peripherals maker Logitech International SA by Microsoft would be "an operation without sense," Logitech's chairman was quoted
as saying in an Italian newspaper on March 9.
Shares in Swiss-based Logitech rose in January based on speculation Microsoft would
launch a takeover bid. Analysts dismissed rumors of an $8 billion takeover bid and Logitech board member Daniel Borel, the company's largest
shareholder, said he had no reason to sell his stake.
"(Shares) only rose for a day. Anyhow it would be an operation without
sense," Logitech Chairman Guerrino De Luca told Corriere della Sera in an interview.

Every Sunday, as part of the Sundays Member-Written Review of the Week, the front page will bring you a new review posted by one of our very own

review of the Logitech G15 Keyboard. Pictures are courtesy of A10.
" Back again for another G15 review. This time I look at the new
and improved G15 Keyboard. Sitting along with one of its buddies on the bottom of shelf at Best Buy it screamed "buy me Steve buy me Im a hundred
dollars, but worth every penny". Well I do have a weak spot for this sort of stuff; Im not much of an impulse buyer and I also think things
through before I put my mittens on the box ."

28.10.2007Logitech ships their billionth mouse
Logitech has recently announced shipping their billionth mouse, just in time to mark forty years since the first mouse was demonstrated in public. Now
selling a large range of keyboards, mice, webcams, and numerous other forms of input (and more recently output too), Logitech sells, on average, 7.8
million mice every month, or 376,000 per day, to over 100 countries. Some readers may remember the times before the mouse, and how the mouse formed
the path of both commercial and personal computer use. Many things that are now assumed to be standard are dependent on the invention of the mouse.

04.12.2008JCXP Review: Logitech MX 1100 Cordless Laser Mouse
The Logitech brand has long been associated with quality and inexpensive PC peripheral solutions. Over the years, they have redefined the way we
interact with our computers with many new innovative products and technologies. In 2004, Logitech was the first company to introduce the laser optical
mouse to the mainstream market with the MX 1000 cordless mouse.
Today, we will be giving you a glimpse into one of Logitech's latest
offerings, the MX 1100 Cordless Laser Mouse; successor to the MX 1000.
"After the success of the Logitech MX 1000, a comfortable
mouse with buttons galore, I would never have thought that Logitech could come up with a true successor. However, when hearing about the brand new MX
1100 a few months ago, I thought that this could be a perfect replacement for my aging MX 1000..." >

01.12.2005The Best Gaming Mouse: Logitech vs. Razer vs. Microsoft
With online gaming being as competitive as it is these days, you will no doubt want to take advantage of every opportunity available (short of
cheating) to gain an edge over your online foes. Today we are taking a look at five gaming mice that aim to do just that.
Considering it
would be nearly impossible to cover all options we have gone with the usual suspects which usually carry the best ergonomics and sensor technology
available at any given time.
Meet the cream of the crop: from Logitech, the G5 and G9 mice. Microsoft is represented by the Sidewinder and
Habu mice, while Razer rounds out the group with the Lachesis gaming mouse.

06.09.2005Logitech Buys Slim Devices in ฤ Million Deal
Logitech has acquired Slim
Devices, developer of
network-based home music
systems such as Squeezebox.
Logitech purchased Slim
Devices for ฤ million in
cash plus a possible
performance-based payment,
tied to reaching certain
future revenue targets.
Guerrino De Luca,
Logitech president and CEO
explains: "Our focus is on
people who want to listen to
and control their digital
music, anywhere in the home.
Slim Devices brings expertise
in both network-based music
delivery and high-quality
audio, and a committed
community of developers. Slim
Devices complements
Logitech's existing
technology and human-interface
strengths, helping to ensure
that we can deliver to music
lovers the promise of the
digital home."
Analyst firm Parks
Associates CEO Tricia Parks
says: "We forecast music
downloads, online radio and
music-subscription services at
close to ũ billion in 2006
for the US alone. We forecast
that amount to increase in the
US to over ū billion
annually by 2010. Those
figures don't even count the
hardware revenues from
necessary adaptors and
controllers. Clearly,
Logitech's timing for the
acquisition of Slim Devices is
excellent, just as it was for
the acquisition of the Harmony
remote business."

19.10.2006Neowin At Digital Life: Logitech
Of all the remote controls and
PC peripherals they had on
display, perhaps the most
intriguing Logitech display
was that of the Easy Call
Desktop and QuickCam Ultra
Vision. Featuring a wireless
keyboard, wireless laser
mouse, speaker phone and
headset, the Easy Call Desktop
is targeted at the user who
like to make internet voice
calls with applications like
Skype. The keyboard was nicely
laid out and the keys were
very responsive. The mouse,
though smooth, did feel a
little uncomfortable on the
left side of my hand (I am
right handed) and looked a
little on the cheap side. The
same can be said about the
somewhat flimsy headset. The
speakerphone, though, felt
very well built and was of
ample size.
Also
shown off on the same PC was
the Logitech QuickCam Ultra
Vision. The camera is very
sleek and was firmly clipped
onto the LCD monitor. The
image quality was impressive,
to say the least. Movements
were shown smoothly and color
richness was better than most
other web cameras I have seen.
I'm going to go out on a limb
and say that the glass lens
played a large role in the
quality of the image because
it really was worth noticing.
I almost never
make internet phone calls, so
the Easy Call Desktop would be
of little use to me, though I
do love the keyboard. However,
if you do find yourself
opening Skype quite often, you
may want to take a look at the
desktop package, that is, if
you can convince yourself to
part with 贡 US.
On the flip side, if
you're a video conference
person and just have to see
the people you're talking to,
you better get yourself that
QuickCam Ultra Vision. That
way, even when you're in your
pajamas, you will look crystal
clear.
