7.1.2006LG develops world's first 4G handset modem chip
With 3G technology powering most of the first world's mobile phone connectivity, everyone is already looking forward to the next step up. With
WiMAX being passed over by most industry players (the struggling Sprint is a noticeable exception), it's looking as though LTE (3GPP Long Term
Evolution), also being called 4G, is going to be that much anticipated step forward. With theoretical download speeds of 100Mbps and upload speeds
that can peak at a lofty 50Mbps, it's no wonder so many providers and handset manufacturers are jumping on board the LTE bandwagon. LG
Electronics is already on board and in a big way.

11.12.2008USB 3G modems won't fit in the MacBook Air
Ouch, we just tested and confirmed that one of the smallest (and thus likeliest to fit) USB EV-DO modems around, the Sprint / Novatel U727, won't
even come close to fitting in the cramped, foldaway USB port on the MacBook Air. Most flash drives will probably be okay, but it looks like 3G users
will either need powered USB hubs or a USB extension cable to get online where WiFi isn't available (read: most places). Of course, your mileage
may vary -- we recommend testing your modem of choice on a live machine in an Apple store before dropping any coin.

10.11.2009USB 3.0 ten times faster; first gear due next year
USB 3.0 is racing towards the finish line. The current draft spec is expected to be signed off by the end of this year, and within 12 months were
likely to see the first Superspeed USB kit his the shelves.
Its a fast pace for the equally fleet-footed technology, which is the
third revision since USB made its debut a little over a decade ago. And while USB lost out to FireWire in the sexy name stakes, USB 3.0 has a swanky
marketing moniker all its own “ Superspeed USB “ plus a fresh-baked logo to match.
