John Nack, the principal product manager for Photoshop at Adobe, last week announced on his public blog that CS3 and earlier have not been tested on
Snow Leopard. There have been reports of CS3 being unstable on Snow Leopard surfacing around the web - including CS3 crashing when fonts are
changed. Photoshop CS2, however, is listed as not compatible with Snow Leopard. "While older Adobe and Macromedia applications may install and run
on Mac OS X Snow Leopard (v10.6), they were designed, tested and released to the public several years before this new operating system became
available," the document states. "You may therefore experience a variety of installation, stability, and reliability issues for which there is no
resolution.

According to UK's
Guardian, Phil Schiller is to use a portion of his MacWorld presentation to show Snow Leopard, Apple's upcoming operating
system.
Snow Leopard is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2009, before Windows 7 (quarter 2/3). Snow Leopard will have had
a 14+ month development period, the third longest in OS X history.
Snow Leopard will offer many new features such as Microsoft Exchange
Support and OpenCL. Grand Central, another Snow Leopard feature, will make better use of the Intel processors currently in Macs.
While
showing at MacWorld, Snow Leopard is not expected to be publicly available until 2-3 months after.

Snow Leopard offers an even more streamlined Mac experience than Leopard and noticeably faster interface responsiveness. The application performance,
however, is slightly slower than it is with Leopard, at least on the MacBook Pro we used as our test machine. As the OS is now a pure 64-bit operating
system, expect the application performance to improve over Leopard as you add RAM or use it with a high-end desktop.

Yesterday, several news sites reported that Mac OS X 10.6 was listed for a short while as shipping within 24 hours on the Apple Store online. This
glitch follows reports from several Apple rumor sites that Snow Leopard is due to launch as early as this month. Apple has still not announced a ship
date for Snow Leopard and Apple officials were quick to say this was simply a mistake. This also follows a report from MacRumors which received what

According to several sources in contact with MacRumors.com, Mac OS X 10.6 Build 10A432 has been designated as the Golden Master. This build is the
final release out of the development team and will likely be the final shipping version. Mac OS X 10.6, or Snow Leopard, represents a series of
changes to the operating system for increased performance over Mac OS 10.5 or Leopard. Technologies include Grand Central Dispatch and OpenCL and now
most system applications will be 64-bit. Snow Leopard is also the first Mac OS release without PowerPC support.

I bought my copy of Leopard on Saturday from the local Apple Store. Granted, Ive only used the software for two days, but it
has made a remarkably fast first impression. There is much to like about Leopard, but this cat scratches—oh, am I wounded. Whats bugging me

With every release of OS X, like most operating systems, interface changes are constantly being made. Snow Leopard, Apple's upcoming operating
system, is yet to see any major UI changes in the currently available builds. However, a source has revealed a new theme that may be underway.
Recently leaked information states that Snow Leopard will use the Marble theme instead of Aqua. While not much is known about the new theme,
Marble is expected to consist of a flattened Aqua look and pick up some elements from iTunes and iPhoto, unifying the style across the operating
system.
Snow Leopard is expected to be released in this quarter.

In only two weeks since the official commercial launch of Microsoft's latest operating system, Windows 7 has managed to surpass Apple's Snow
Leopard market share. Snow Leopard has been on the market for three months while Windows 7 has only been on the market for two weeks. Microsoft
still stands dominant in the market share, holding strong at 92.52% of all computers in October, compared to Mac OS X with 5.27%, Linux with 0.96% and
1.25% with other operating systems. Windows 7 managed to surpass Snow Leopard's market share (1.17%); Windows 7 managed to grab 2.15% of the
market share, where Vista shows 18.83% and Windows XP with 70.48%.
