iPhone OS 3.0 preview on March 17th
iPhone users need to set aside March 17th as that's the date Apple will take the cover off of iPhone OS 3. Not very much is known at this point
as Apple has a good track record of keeping things under wraps until the last moment. iPhone OS 3 will usher in another era for Apple and its
phenomenal iPhone. Hopefully in this update we may see copy and paste, flash, and native video recording on the iPhone. Add in those new features
and Apple may have the most robust phone on the market today.

18.03.2009Apple loses exclusive iPhone deal in France
Apple was forced to end exclusive iPhone contact deals with Orange in France. The immediate effect of the contact, which offers the latest iPhone to
all of France via Apple and Telecom SA (Orange) will be cancelled by France's competition authority. This exclusive contact could knock out all
rival phones within France, making the iPhone the most popular smartphone in France. Even with O2 selling the iPhone exclusively in the UK, France
competition authority had to step in after a complaint was filed in September, from the successful launch of the iPhone and iPhone 3G, by Orange.
Apple has appealed the decision with the French competition authority to once again sell the iPhone exclusively through Orange.

07.08.2008Possible "iTunes Relay" Update?
Recently, rumors have surfaced that Apple is developing an on-demand streaming video service. This service would be provided to anyone who purchases a
movie or TV show from the iTunes store and allows for the video to be streamed from Apple's servers to a mobile device, such as the iPhone or Apple
TV.
Due to the rather large size of iTunes HD videos, such an update would not be surprising. The AppleTV's hard drive only comes two
rather small options, 40GB and 160GB. Additionally, the iPhone 3G can only hold a 16GB hard drive maximum. Considering the average size of a HD
program is roughly 1.5GB, iTunes Relay would allow for a near unlimited amount of videos to be played as if stored on the actual hard drive.
There are however a few disadvantages to the service. First, the videos are streamed from the servers. So in order to play videos properly, a
high speed internet connection above 1.5 mbps is strongly recommended. Secondly, if your internet goes down or you are simply in an area without
access, you wont be able to play your videos.
These rumors correspond with a patent Apple filed for last August to enable such a
technology on the iPhone and iPod Touch, suggesting that this addition to iTunes is very likely.

In a statement on the company's website Apple explains "We put the NDA in place because the
iPhone OS includes many Apple inventions and innovations that we would like to protect".
"However, the NDA has created too much of a
burden on developers, authors and others interested in helping further the iPhone’s success, so we are dropping it for released software."
This is great news for iPhone owners and developers, the announcement will pave the way for freedom of information and books for developers to

Business 24-7 has dropped a hint that Apple may be preparing to unveil their next-gen iPhone to the public in June. In addition to the news, they have

have been launched around June and July, and with the growing popularity of the App Store it is expected that Apple needs to upgrade the iPhone's

Apple: We'll Only Help You With Your iPhone After It's Too Late To Return It
Darin's iPhone was defective,
so he tried to return it to
the AT&T store where he
purchased it. No dice. AT&T
told him that Apple was
responsible for the device.
When Darin tried to exchange
the phone with Apple, they
told him he'd have to deal
with AT&T for the first 14
days.
That's odd,
Apple has a 14 day refund
policy on the iPhone. As in,
you can't return it for a
full refund after 14 days.
Darin eventually got
a replacement iPhone, but it
seems that Apple and AT&T have
their wires crossed on this
issue. Apple is responsible
for the actual phone, don't
let them make you wait 14 days
to replace a defective unit
because of a contradiction in
policies, or you may find that
you cannot get an full refund
on the phone. Darin thinks it
might be better to buy the
iPhone from the Apple store,
because that AT&T store
wasn't equipped to help him.
