Live Search autosuggestions come to Firefox

The Live Search team today announced that they have officially integrated Live Search into Firefox by popular demand. Microsoft has released a Firefox addon to get to your results faster via Microsoft Live Search auto suggestions. The addon is available for download here. The addon is based on the Open Search standard and uses the JSON interface supported by Firefox to retrieve autosuggestions. Microsoft has been integrating Open Search into their products recently - the most recent one being the Federated Search in Windows 7. Open Search has also been implemented in Internet Explorer 7(& above) and SharePoint Search.

Windows 7: Calibrate your display

In part one of our overview of Windows 7, we looked into Federated Search. In part two, we looked into the improvements in UAC. In part three, we look into the new Display Color Calibration tool included in Windows 7. Windows 7 includes the option to calibrate your display. Calibrating your display ensures that the colors are displayed correctly on your monitor. You can control factors such as gamma, adjust brightness and contrast and color balance. The wizard is very simple to use and each step has detailed instructions and steps to achieve correct color representation.

Windows 7: User Account Control (UAC) overview

In part one of our overview of Windows 7, we looked into Federated Search. In part two, we look into the much criticized feature of Windows Vista - The User Account Control One of the highly criticized features in Windows Vista is the User Account Control(UAC) which prompts up a dialog box seeking users' permission to continue or stop whenever a system-level change is made. The problem with Vista is that even the default user account which is created during the install, who is a protected administrator (unlike in XP where the user is an Administrator), could not bypass the UAC until its tweaked.
