Google history - Milestones
Google is a play on the word googol, which was coined by Milton Sirotta, nephew of American mathematician Edward Kasner, and was popularized in the book, Mathematics and the Imagination by Kasner and James Newman. It refers to the number represented by the numeral 1 followed by 100 zeros. Google fright for eBay
GOOGLE is testing a new service that could eventually propel it into new markets on the web in competition with a wide range of existing internet companies, from e-commerce giants like eBay to online listings sites.

Google Sued Over Talk
Rates Technology (RTI), a company that owns several internet voice communication patents, is suing Google for $5 billion claiming the search giants' Google Talk software uses two RTI patented technologies without licensing them.
The suit, filed in October in US District Court in the Eastern District of New York, seeks damages in compensation for "irreparable damages" caused to RTI.

Gates: Microsoft Not Afraid of Google
In an interview with an Israeli newspaper, Microsoft chairman Bill Gates said that his company sees Google as a threat, but is by no means scared of the growing search giant. Gates, however, did agree with the assessment that Google is Microsoft's primary competitor. But he said company has plans that will take effect over the next six months, which it hopes will cut into the Google's dominance in the Web search market.

TheNextWeb is reporting that Google may be set to announce Google Wave servers for federation later today. Currently Google has two Wave
infrastructures available to those outside the company, the first is the developer preview sandbox which has been available since Google I/O earlier
year and the second is the mass consumer preview which was opened up to 100,000 participants in September. Google is expected to allow companies and
end users to build and host their own Wave servers. These servers will be able to talk to other Wave servers. TheNextWeb claims that Google Wave
