most popular productivity software, including Office Home and Student 2007, Windows Live OneCare, Windows Live Mail, Messenger and Photo Gallery. All
in one easy to install package.
Equipt also installs the Microsoft Office Live Workspace connector on the Microsoft Office tool bar, so
users can save documents to their own dedicated online workspace and invite friends and classmates to collaborate and share.
And as
it’s a subscription based model subscribers will receive free upgrades to the latest versions of Microsoft Office Home and Student as well
security updates for Windows Live OneCare as they’re released free of charge.
One subscription could cover the average
household’s quota of PC’s in one fell swoop as the software’s licence cover up to 3 PC’s

Well, that was quick. Students and parents hoping to cash in on a Microsoft 2-for-1 deal of Live OneCare PC protection and a copy of Office 2007,
together called Microsoft Equipt, need to find alternatives. Posted on the home site of Equipt now is a letter from the team filling in customers on
what their own severance pay is. As of April 30 2009, the full package will discontinue services. People who bought the product, but have not
installed it can request a refund. Similarly, if you paid for a full year subscription, you will be prorated the unused months and be given a copy of
Office Home and Student.

free and legal songs. With CD sales in free fall and legal downloads yet to fill the gap, the music industry has reluctantly embraced the file-sharing
technology that threatened to destroy it. Qtrax, a digital service announced today, promises a catalogue of more than 25 million songs that users can
download to keep, free and with no limit on the number of tracks. The service has been endorsed by the very same record companies - including EMI,
Universal Music and Warner Music – that have chased file-sharers through the courts in a doomed attempt to prevent piracy. The gamble is that
fans will put up with a limited amount of advertising around the Qtrax website’s jukebox in return for authorised use of almost every song
available. The service will use the “peer-to-peer” network, which contains not just hit songs but rarities and live tracks from the
world’s leading artists.

Dell has announced today that it will begin to offer Microsoft's software exclusively at the Dell Download Store for U.S customers only. The
exclusive deal makes Dell the first third party company to offer Microsoft's popular software lineup for digital download. "With everyday
savings plus on-demand access, the Dell Download Store addresses our customers' two main concerns: price and immediacy. In addition, downloading
is a more environmentally friendly way to purchase and distribute software because there's no need for packaging material." said Geoff Surkamer,
general manager of Dell's Global Digital Distribution. The Dell Download store offers customers a "digital locker" which allows them to
download previously purchased software for free.
