OK, so the Origami website has been updated this week. It gives us little new information and says more will be released in 7 days time (9th March 2006). The mystery continues...right!
If you have time,

I really thought Microsoft would have given us more information this week, especially considering the heart of the story was revealed last week.

Windows Live Messenger v8.0.0562 was released exclusively to selected Beta-testers earlier this month. Fortunately for WLM users (including invitees) a new build very similar to 0562 is now imminent.
It could've been released already, if it wasn't for weather-inflicted damage to many offices in Redmond last weekend. So, if you're currently using Windows Live Messenger 8.0.0365, expect an auto-update prompt in one of the next couple of days.

16.09.2006Mozilla may separate from Thunderbird to focus on Firefox
The Mozilla Foundation is
thinking about creating a
separate organization to take
control of its Thunderbird
e-mail application, allowing
it to concentrate on
development of the Firefox Web
browser.
In a
blog
posting Wednesday,
Mitchell Baker, CEO of
Mozilla, a subsidiary of the
Mozilla Foundation, called for
a new structure to allow "the
Thunderbird community to
determine its own destiny"
and asked the open-source
community for input.
Baker said Mozilla's
Thunderbird effort "is
dwarfed" by the energy it
spends on the Firebox browser
and the ecosystem around
it.
"Mozilla
doesn't focus on Thunderbird
as much as we do ... on
Firefox and we don't expect
this to change in the
foreseeable future," she
wrote. A separate organization
focused on the maintenance and
further development of the
e-mail client, she added,
would be able to move
independently and thus deepen
the user community. ..

26.07.2007Mozilla patched a remote code execution flaw in Thunderbird
Mozilla has released
Thunderbird 2.0.0.12 which fixes a remote
exploitation of a vulnerability that allows an attacker to execute arbitrary code on Linux and Windows.
The vulnerability exists when
parsing an e-mail if the "Preview" pane is turned on, which is the default. Then all a targeted user has to do is select the message in the browsing
pane. Once the message is previewed, the vulnerability will be triggered, resulting in the execution of arbitrary code with the privileges of the
current user.

Mozilla Splits Thunderbird as Seperate subsidiary
Similar to what it did with Firefox a couple of years ago, the Mozilla Foundation has decided to spin Thunderbird off as a separate subsidiary. The
as-of-yet-unnamed subsidiary will be given $3 million in seed funding and the sole task of shepherding Thunderbird's development.
Thunderbird hit the 2.0 milestone earlier this year and is available in over 35 languages on all the major platforms: Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.
But in contrast to Firefox, which has seen its market share soar since its 1.0 release, Thunderbird has struggled to catch the attention of PC users
around the world in the same way that Firefox has. Although Thunderbird is a solid, full-featured client, it faces competition from both free e-mail
clients available from Microsoft and Apple as well as from webmail apps.
Mozilla Foundation CEO Mitchell Baker first hinted at her plans
for Thunderbird in July. With the announcement, the Foundation hopes to energize Thunderbird development and adoption by giving it its own home within
the Foundation. In a post on her blog, Baker says that the seed funding will be used primarily to attract talented people "who are passionate about
e-mail and Internet communications."

Mozilla Thunderbird 3.0: New calendar, better search
A new Mozilla Foundation effort to improve its
Thunderbird open-source e-mail software now has an official name--and its first public goals.
Thunderbird 3.0 is due to ship
by the end of the year with a more comprehensive search feature and official integration of the Lightning calendar add-on, said David Ascher, chief executive of the newly named
Mozilla Messaging subsidiary. The first alpha release will come sooner, though, for those who want to test the software.

Mozilla fixes nine flaws in Thunderbird
Mozilla Messaging patched nine security vulnerabilities in Thunderbird Wednesday, the first time it's plugged holes in the e-mail software since
early May. Thunderbird 2.0.0.16, which was added to Mozilla's download servers late Wednesday, quashes nine bugs, including one that was patched
last week in Firefox , the company's open-source browser. The remainder fix flaws that were first addressed in early July when Mozilla updated
Firefox to version 2.0.0.15.
It's not unusual for Thunderbird security updates to lag behind those released for Firefox. Seven of the
nine bugs were rated "moderate" by Mozilla, the second-lowest of the four rankings in its threat system. The other two were pegged as "low."

Thunderbird developers quit Mozilla
Just three weeks after Mozilla Corp. spun off its Thunderbird to a new subsidiary, the only two paid developers working on the e-mail client said they
were quitting the company.
Both Scott McGregor and David Bienvenu used terse blog posts last week to announce that their last day
with Mozilla will be Friday.
"I plan to continue on, as a volunteer, with my role as a module owner for the Thunderbird
project," said McGregor, who started the Thunderbird project in February 2003.
"I wish the Mozilla Corporation and the new Thunderbird Mail Corporation luck in their future endeavors," he added. Bienvenu posted a similar message on his blog Friday.
Mozilla did not respond to questions and a request for comment on the departure of the two developers, who led the largely volunteer
effort.

Thunderbird 3 release has wings clipped
Mozilla has pushed back its development schedule for Thunderbird 3, the next version of its email client. A planned beta of the package will now be
described as a third alpha build. The first beta of Thunderbird 3 was due to come out at the end of September. It would have been followed by a second
in November and a release candidate sometime towards the back end of January, according to a preliminary release schedule. This date is now likely to
be pushed back, given that several features are not yet in place, but by how long remains unclear. The cross-platform email client has been available
as an alpha for several months.
The revised description is intended to avoid raising the profile of the release when neither the product
nor Mozilla Messaging are ready, according to a blog posting by Mozilla developer Dan Mosedale.

Microsoft release Windows 7 application compatibility update
Following on from the Internet Explorer 8 update that Microsoft released for Windows 7 Beta a day ago, another update has been released targeting
application compatibility. Judging by these two updates released, Microsoft is progressing nicely, and the most recent update targets mainly games
that did not run before hand, or had to be opened via compatibility-mode. Interestingly, Microsoft didn't state which applications were targeted
in this update, but it is of no doubt that users will find out soon enough. If you're currently having problems with gaming, or have had problems
with it, in the Windows 7 Beta, install these updates and post in the comments to show which games now work, or still don't.
