In part one of my comparison of Windows Vista Beta 1 and Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger," I looked at three key aspects of each system: Look and feel, desktop search, and data visualization and organization. For the most part, OS X came out well ahead of Windows Vista, as you'd expect, since it's a polished finished product. Vista, meanwhile, is all knees and elbows, an awkward teenager on its way to maturity.
. Microsoft will iron out the details, I'm sure, but the end result will likely not change much. Specifically, OS X will always be elegant, and Windows will almost certainly lag behind in the fit and finish department. The only questions are how much Vista will improve when compared to previous Windows versions, and whether it will be enough to keep customers from moving to OS X.

According to several sources in contact with MacRumors.com, Mac OS X 10.6 Build 10A432 has been designated as the Golden Master. This build is the
final release out of the development team and will likely be the final shipping version. Mac OS X 10.6, or Snow Leopard, represents a series of

Well, this is a surprise. According to Mac|Life, the upcoming service pack for Mac OS X, dubbed 10.5.7, is due to be released on Friday. This is, as
you can imagine, a rumor; Apple hasn't mentioned anything themselves, but apparently the source is within the company itself, so this could be
credible. Mac OS X 10.5.7 is due to bring a whole number of fixes and improvements, in areas such as "networking, syncing and BlueTooth issues,"
according to the website. OS X developers were seeded the most recent build, 9J58, on April the 29th. The build only fixed issues with iChat and
Safari, so it's expected that this is the final.

Apple said Tuesday that it sold over two million copies of Mac OS X Leopard since its release on Friday, far outpacing the first-weekend sales of Mac
OS X Tiger, which was previously the most successful OS release in the company's history.
Sales included copies sold at Apple's
retail stores, Apple Authorized Resellers, the online Apple Store, under maintenance agreements and bundled with new Mac computers. In comparison, it
took the Cupertino-based Mac maker approximately six weeks to ship its 2 millionth copy of Mac OS X Tiger back in 2005.
"Early
indications are that Leopard will be a huge hit with customers," said Apple chief executive Steve Jobs. "Leopard's innovative features are getting
