DirectX Redistributable 9.0c August 2007 for Windows Vista

Microsoft has made available fresh DirectX downloads for Windows Vista and Windows XP. The Redmond company offered since earlier this week the DirectX End-User Runtimes (August 2007) delivering the updated package of the DirectX end-user redistributable addressed at developers for direct implementation into their own software in order to leverage the graphics technology of the Windows platform.

Microsoft XNA Framework Redistributable 2.0

The XNA Framework Redistributable provides the necessary runtime components to execute a game on Windows that was developed using Microsoft XNA Game Studio 2.0. This release contains improved functionality along with new features. Installation of this runtime is not necessary on systems that already have Microsoft XNA Game Studio 2.0 installed.



The End User License Agreement (EULA) for Microsoft XNA Game Studio 2.0 covers the terms under which developers may use the Redistributable. For full details, please review the Microsoft XNA Game Studio 2.0 EULA.

Answer:

Windows Installer 4.5 will initially ship as a Windows redistributable component via download center. At RTM, redistributable packages will support installing to Windows XP SP2 and SP3, Windows Server 2003 SP1 and SP2, Windows Vista RTM and SP1, and Windows Server 2008. These redistributable packages will support the three CPU architectures Windows to which these platforms ship: x86, x64, and ia64. These choices for platform support are consistent with the Windows Service Pack road map...

Windows Installer 4.5 Redistributable

The Microsoft® Windows® Installer (MSI) is the application installation and configuration service for Windows. Version 4.5 of the Windows Installer has several new features, including:



Multiple Package Transaction: In a multiple package transaction, you can create a single transaction from multiple packages. In a multiple package transaction, a chainer is used to dynamically include packages in the transaction. If any of the packages do not install as expected, you can roll back the installation.



Embedded UI Handler: You can embed a custom user interface (UI) handler in the Windows Installer package. This makes a custom UI easier to integrate.
