First of all, the Xbox 360 is getting a "Virtual console" feature similar to what Nintendo planned for the Revolution, meaning older games (from other platforms) will be downloadable for a small price. The service will be officially announced at E3.

Despite the Xbox 360s seeming need for a hard disk drive, Microsoft will continue to sell an entry-level model of its console without any such
magnetic storage. A new, unannounced Xbox 360 Arcade console was found listed on

Us (N/A) websites.
Both retailers price the new Xbox 360 Arcade console at $279.99 the same price currently occupied by the
Core model with availability beginning on October 23.
DailyTech previously reported on word that a new entry-level Xbox 360
would be packaged with a 256MB memory card and five free Xbox Live Arcade games. The basic model may not be the only one getting a holiday makeover;

Looks like Microsoft is going to do the right thing:
as anticipated, Xbox
Live General Manager Marc Whitten states in a letter to customers that, as recompense for nearly two weeks of
outages, the group is offering up a full, free Xbox Live Arcade title free of
charge. Sounds like it won't be until the next couple of weeks before the offer is active, but it will indeed apply to "all" Xbox Live members, and
assuming it's for games worth more than 200 Microsoft points, it will be net positive for Gold users who lost about $1.64 worth of Live service over
the last twelve days. Well done Microsoft, we think most will consider the stinging pain eased. Memo posted after the break.

The number of Xbox 360 users downloading the Watch Instantly application from Netflix has now reached the 1 million mark, according to Microsoft and
Netflix. Introduced less than three months ago, the application is designed to let Xbox Live Gold members use their TVs to watch movies and television
shows streamed from Netflix to an Xbox gaming system from Microsoft.
By now, Xbox customers have used the application from Netflix to watch
1.5 billion minutes of movies and TVs, the companies maintained in a statement. Over 12,000 movies and TV episodes are available for instant viewing
through Netflix, with a growing percentage available in high definition format. Beyond supporting Netflix streaming in the US, the Xbox Live Video

Microsoft officially announced today at E3 that the Xbox 360 will soon integrate with the very popular social networks Facebook, Twitter, Last.fm and
UK's Sky TV. Users will be able to view videos, photos, read and post status updates all from their Xbox 360 dashboard. The update will include
the ability to send friends over Facebook invites to play games directly from their console, as well as news feeds from friends with users avatars.
Twitter users will also enjoy the benefit of posting Twitter updates directly from their Xbox 360 console, also read their friends postings. Xbox
Live Gold Subscribers will also be able to listen to streaming music from their console through Last.fm.

Amazon have debateably one of the best iPhone optimised websites to date, and as of today, also have an iPhone and iPod touch application available.
Along with all the usual features you'd expect from Amazon (purchasing goods, one-touch checkout, order checking), there is also something called
"Amazon Remembers". Effectively, you can take a photograph of an item, send it to Amazon over the phones modem, or via wireless lan if you have an
iPod touch device, and Amazon will try to identify a similar product for you to buy. They use a fold out chair as an example on their website, which
you can find here. (Seems to be available in the US only at the moment*)
