MAY 21--Meet Alex Phillips. The Wisconsin teenager is facing felony child pornography charges for allegedly posting naked photos of his 16-year-old ex-girlfriend on his MySpace page.When contacted by police about the two images, Phillips, 17, balked at removing the pictures of the girl. Warned that he could face jail for publishing images of the minor, Phillips told an investigator, "F*** that, I am keeping them up," according to a criminal complaint filed yesterday in Lacrosse County Circuit Court. Phillips told cops that he posted the photos last week "because he was venting." The cell phone camera photos had been taken by the girl, who provided them to Phillips.
Along with posting the photos, Phillips added explicit captions like, "Yo, U see how big her hole is! Its from me!" While claiming that his goal was not to harm the girl, Phillips acknowledged that, "he probably should not have done this," according to the May 20 court filing. Along with the child porn count, Phillips was charged with defamation and sexual exploitation of a child.

The application allows users to upload pictures of themselves and have them rated by other iPhone users in a rating system similar to hotornot.com. BeautyMeter demonstrates the flaws in Apple's safeguards that now allow nudity on their applications for those 18 years or older, using developer maintained servers. The image in question shows a girl from the United States, aged just 15 years old taking a picture of herself standing in the reflection of a mirror, almost completely naked. New web threat takes advantage of iFrame vulnerability, making its way to the U.S.
Security firm Trend Micro said that it has discovered a new threat that is currently making the rounds on the Internet. The threat is based on an iFrame vulnerability in webpage code to plant a keylogger to steal user passwords, or turn computers into proxy servers for various other attacks.Trend Micro said that the threat could have originated from a computer Trojan-making kit and relies on a scenario in which website owners are unaware that they are compromised, and website users are unaware that surfing through seemingly legitimate pages can actually be part of an infection process. This process, according to the security firm, involves a malicious IP address that is inserted into the HTML code (HTML_IFRAME.CU), a download of malicious Trojans (TROJ_SMALL.HCK, TROJ_AGENT.UHL, TROJ_PAKES.NC, PAKES) from another URL via a JavaScript routine.
TrendMicro said that the threat was initially detected in Italy, but apparently is making its way to the U.S.

"Phoenix" and "Die Hard" were spotted Monday by NLPC, which searches with title keywords on Google Video's search engine and via Google's blog search. The latter finds sites where bloggers post information about uploaded videos which, as was the case with "Legion," might not include its title...

Kevin Rose unveiled a new project today, Pownce. Pownce looks like it’s going to combine Twitter with the ability to send events, files, and links to your friends. Pownce allows you to send it to a specific person or share with everyone. Based on Leah&# 8217;s blog it looks like it’s using S3 and of course AIR, the Adobe Integrated Runtime.Pownce decided to do their desktop client in AIR because it was cross platform and they could use the web skills to port most of the website functionality to the desktop client. I think it’s a pretty good use case for AIR. You can do everything you need to from the website and you’ll never have to download the client if you don’t want to. But if you become a heavy user of Pownce, you’re going to find the desktop client much easier to use and a much better experience overall.
After playing with it for a bit, I’m excited about what Pownce is going to bring to the table. I’m a huge fan of Twitter and Pownce seems kind of like Twitter on steroids. I just hope they can scale. One of the amazing things is that this team has only 3 developers. With those three people they were able to build the website, the desktop client and hook everything together. That’s the kind of thing AIR lets you do.
