Neowin Reviews: Griffin Clarifi iPhone case

Now - I know what you're probably thinking - "It's just a case, how can anything be really special about it?". Well this isn't just any iPhone case, it's the Clarifi from Griffin, but I'll come to that later. First, we'll start with the basics: What's in the box. Well, in this case, your $30.99 gets you the Clarifi itself, a screen protector (which I'll come to later), and a cleaning cloth, along with an instruction manual on how to fit the screen protector and case (which is a nice touch, as fitting a screen protector can be tricky the first time you attempt it).

Domain name '.eu' open for business

BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) -- The European Union planted its flag in cyberspace Wednesday when the ".eu" Internet domain name opened for business.

Until now, Europeans had to choose between a national domain such as ".fr" for France or a global one like ".com," which is often seen as American.

EU Information Society Commissioner Viviane Reding said she expected several hundred thousand sign-ups for ".eu" in the first few days. National registries in some countries -- such as Belgium, home to the EU headquarters in Brussels -- are offering promotions to persuade Internet users to stay local.

But do Europeans want a ".eu" domain name? Some business groups are uncertain how popular it will be. Europeans have an EU flag, an EU passport and an EU anthem but many have a lukewarm attitude to European integration -- as French and Dutch "no" votes to a new constitution showed this year...

Gateway has agreed to take over the controlling stake in Packard Bell, the company announced Monday.

The announcement wasn't a surprise--Gateway and Lenovo have waged a public battle over the Paris-based PC vendor--with Gateway announcing its intentions in September. (Recently, according to a Reuters report, Lenovo CEO Bill Amelio told reporters, "Packard Bell is a great fit, and we're still very interested. ... It's not over until it's over.")

Gateway announced its own acquisition last month, and future parent company, Acer, has agreed to fund the purchase of Packard Bell.
