Microsoft to contest "unjustified" EU move
Microsoft said on Thursday it would contest what it called an unjustified European Commission decision to impose backdated daily fines if it fails to comply with European Union antitrust sanctions.
The U.S. software giant said it had obeyed the Commission's landmark March 2004 decision ordering it to change its business practices but the EU executive kept making new demands and the latest one went beyond the European regulator's powers.

upgrading Windows Vista to Windows 7, but as we discussed earlier there is no upgrade path available from Windows XP to Windows 7 "There's no

A page over at Microsoft Partners has been updated to show that Windows 7 RC will be publically released on May 5, and should be available for MSDN

earlier leak on a Microsoft page saying that the RC would be available in May, but that was taken down soon after it was reported. Well see how long
this page stays updated with the Windows 7 RC information, or how long it'll take before RC does actually hit MSDN and Technet.

05.03.2009Domain name '.eu' open for
business
BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP)
-- The European Union planted
its flag in cyberspace
Wednesday when the ".eu"
Internet domain name opened

business.
Until now, Europeans had to
choose between a national
domain such as ".fr" for
France or a global one like
".com," which is often seen
as American.
EU
Information Society
Commissioner Viviane Reding
said she expected several
hundred thousand sign-ups for
".eu" in the first few days.
National registries in some
countries -- such as Belgium,
home to the EU headquarters in
Brussels -- are offering
promotions to persuade
Internet users to stay
local.
But do
Europeans want a ".eu"
domain name? Some business
groups are uncertain how
popular it will be. Europeans
have an EU flag, an EU
passport and an EU anthem but
many have a lukewarm attitude
to European integration -- as
French and Dutch "no" votes
to a new constitution showed
this year...

09.12.2005Windows Vista SP2 RC to be released to public next week
Last week we had a rumor that Windows Vista SP2 RC was released to select testers. It turns out that it might be just a notification from Microsoft a
week ahead that RC is done and available for testing or it might have been a near final RC made available for testing to select testers. Microsoft
has announced today that the RC of SP2 for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 is available to TechNet and MSDN subscribers to test prior to final
release. Microsoft will make SP2 RC available to the general public via TechNet during next week. As expected the final version of SP2 will be made
available in the 2nd quarter of 2009.
