Partners: If you have a subscription to MSDN or TechNet, you
can download Windows 7 RC now. Otherwise, you can download Windows 7 RC starting May 5, 2009. The message on the site also states
that everyone else will receive the RC on May 5, 2009.

Windows 7 beta download imminent?
Microsoft have updated their Windows 7 site with a download link for the Windows 7 beta. It would appear from the posting that Microsoft is currently
readying site updates and download servers for the imminent release of the Windows 7 beta. Yesterday, German site Winfuture claimed that the beta
would be released today and this could confirm the sites claims. The download link is currently inaccessible. It's entirely possible that once
the page is live it will simply be a sign up page to register your interest. Microsoft will not comment on the exact date and a Microsoft official
confirmed the beta is still targetted for early 2009.

New "Network Direct" RDMA Interface Available with Windows Server 2008
Phil Pennington: Windows HPC Server 2008 introduces a new low-latency RDMA network API known as "Network Direct". This RDMA interface in
addition to and distinct from the existing "Winsock Direct" interface. The Network Direct interface introduces several advantages over
Winsock Direct including no dependency on the Winsock stack and much lower latency metrics. MS MPI is being developed to take advantage of this
new interface.
This means that Infiniband vendors, for instance, will need to provide HCA Network Direct providers in
addition to (or perhaps instead of) the Winsock Direct providers published previously. Consequently, development is underway by both Microsoft
and partners to enable full support for the entire network stack.
For programmers, the Network Direct API provides a model
similar to the User Mode Driver Framework (UMDF). MS MPI will be the first user-mode application to leverage Network Direct.

Files that have been uploaded to hosting sites tend to have a short shelf life, but there are few that manage to keep them around indefinitely. In
many cases users will simply forget about a previously uploaded file, or have no more use for it. To help give these orphaned files a second life is
FilesTube, a search engine that monitors files that have recently been uploaded to a
handful of file sharing sites, and makes them easily searchable. While the files aren't in any way hosted to FilesTube, the service acts as a
middleman to point you to where you can download them.
In addition to links that have been slurped up from FilesTube's search
spiders, users can submit their own links. It supports seven popular upload and sharing services, and if users have shared
