As we reported last week, we're in Las Vegas, Nevada this week covering the HP Technology Forum & Expo. While the show doesn't officially kick
off until later this afternoon, we were able to get some behind the scenes footage and interviews with some of the folks who are responsible for
putting the show together (huge thanks to the HP TSG group & our friends at Buzz Corps/Ivy Worldwide for arranging this for us). We know that many of
you don't get the opportunity to attend a lot of these industry events, and it may never occur to you just what is involved with putting something

16.06.2009VoIP too insecure for enterprise: Jerico Forum

possible to eavesdrop on VoIP conversations.
An eavesdropping vulnerability was revealed on the Full Disclosure mailing list on
Wednesday in the US. Vulnerability researchers Humberto Abdelnur, Radu State and Olivier Festor claimed the exploit could allow a remote attacker to
turn a VoIP phone into an eavesdropping device, citing a Grandstream SIP phone as an example.

30.08.2007Format war fanboys shut down AVS Forum
Anyone who's ever visited
AVS Forum--probably the largest online forum for audio/visual
discussion--knows that people can get carried away. And anyone who has dared to venture in the
HD DVD and Blu-ray forum is well aware of rampant fanboy flame
wars--the kind that used to be reserved for game consoles.
Well apparently a couple of the AV geeks have gone too far, which has
led to AVS Forum moderators to completely shut down the HD DVD and Blu-ray forums until the end of the week. And in case you think it's an
overreaction, check out this quote from
the letter they
posted to AVS members...

14.09.2007Microsoft requesting beta testers for games
Forum user
-Alex- gave us a heads up in
Neowin Back Page News that Microsoft is requesting beta testers
via a somewhat vague e-mail. The e-mail requests that participants fill out a survey, which they will use to pick the best beta testers for the job.
Judging from the survey itself, Microsoft could be looking to test out new games on an array of devices, including the PC, Xbox, and even Zunes and
mobile phones. No guarantees, of course, but this looks like it'll turn out some interesting results. Click "Read More" for more info and a copy
of the e-mail that was sent out.

07.02.2008Nokia app monitors juice
A new application from Forum Nokia allows developers, and anyone else, to see just how much power their phone is using, and compare consumption when
running different applications.
The app is free to download from
Forum Nokia, the
Nokia developer's portal, and runs on S60 3rd-Edition handsets. Our N95 averages out at around half a watt, though we managed to get it up to around
three by playing loud music through it. We wanted to see how much would be consumed when playing video, but the N95 didn't have the memory for both
applications to be running at the same time.
