Microsoft had announced that
they were to ship a
code-complete version of
Windows Vista internally by
the end of 2005 to prepare for
a CTP of the code-complete
build to be issued to testers.
However this never happened.
Microsoft now plans to have an
internal build of the
code-complete Vista by early
February.
However, the next CTP, due
out on February 17th,
apparently predates the
code-complete version;
therefore, the February CTP
might not in fact be the
code-complete build.
Currently, Microsoft
is internally testing build
5293 of Vista, which means the
February CTP build might be
within the 5300 range.

24.02.2009MS signs off first CTP of Visual Studio Team System (Rosario)
Brian Harry

Yesterday, we signed off on
the release of the first CTP

VSTS. Rosario, as you may
recall, is the code name for
the release of VSTS that will

timelines for Rosario, so for

I believe this first CTP
will actually be called CTP8
(that's what we call it
internally). That's because
it's the CTP after the 8th
iteration of development. The
next CTP will be after
iteration 10 and will be in
about 3 months. The primary
features in this CTP include
new tools for the manual
tester and work item linking
and hierarchy support. Over

details on what is in the CTP
and lay out a more concrete
roadmap for what's now

December Community Technology
Preview Released To Testers
The December
Microsoft? Windows Vista???
Community Technology Preview
(CTP) is the third in a series
of early Windows Vista builds
being released to an extensive
technical community. The CTP
program is designed to involve
customers and partners in the
various stages of Windows
Vista development by
facilitating timely and
relevant feedback. Microsoft
Corp. is on schedule to have
the majority of Windows Vista
features code-complete by the
end of 2005, and the CTP
program will help enable
Microsoft to provide testers
with a feature-complete
version of the product sooner
than for any previous
Windows?
release.
T
he December CTP will be
distributed to testers in the
Windows Vista Technical Beta
Program, and is available to
more than half a million
Microsoft Developer Network
(MSDN?) and TechNet
subscribers. The December CTP
offers developers, IT
professionals, and Windows
enthusiasts an opportunity to
review and test some of the
operating system???s
significant security and
performance enhancements and
innovations. It also showcases
progress on the overall user
experience and design elements
in Windows Vista.
As with the
previous CTPs, the December
CTP is intended for use by
developers, IT professionals
and the technical community.
Given the nature of software
development and the feedback
process, many of the features
in this CTP will continue to
evolve throughout the
development cycle. End users
interested in testing
pre-release versions of
Windows Vista should continue
to wait until the beta 2
version becomes available. ..

F# is well suited to a spectrum of
