06.01.2008Flash 10 beta update means you should, too

13.08.2008Win7 Beta Download Date Extended
After a rough start with distributing the beta, Microsoft must feel guilty. They have extended the time available for public testers to download and
obtain keys for the beta.
All the way up to February 10, downloads and keys will be available for public download. After that date, if
you have the download, keys will still be available.
This cutoff date does not include MSDN and Technet subscribers; the beta along with
the keys will be available throughout the entire testing phase.
The expiration date for the beta is
August 1, 2009 with an RC release to selected testers scheduled for before that
date.
If you thought you missed out, but still want to get your hands on the beta, now's the time to do it!

28.01.2009Messenger Plus! 4.1 Released
After quite long delays on its
release, since it was
originally planned around the
first beta release of Windows
Live Messenger 8.1, Patchou

popular Messenger Plus!
add-on. Dubbed as version
4.10, the new version offers,
among other improvements,
support for 8.1's public

translations, made from
scratch, and a bunch of bug
fixes.
There's
no guarantee that this version
will work with the final
build, or eventual updates to

Messenger 8.1. The improved
version still works on Windows
Live Messenger 8.0 and above,
so it isn't limited to the
upcoming 8.1 version.

12.11.2006Is Valve's Steam service growing too dominant?
Gearbox Software's President and CEO, Randy Pitchford, has expressed his concern about Steam's domination of the digital distribution market
and its potential exploitation of small developers. During an interview with Maximum PC, Pitchford acknowledged the benefits of digital download game
services, including the ability to log-in to any computer to download purchased content. However, when discussing Steam in particular, Pitchford said
"I just don't trust Valve". Pitchford noted that most of his concerns with Valve comes from the "conflict of interest" of the company
competing in the first-person shooter arena, much like Gearbox, while also holding complete control over the Steam service. Pitchford continued,
"...I, personally, trust Valve.
