AVG free & Zonealarm free - Vista activation crack kille

Postby Seeme » Sat Jun 30, 2007 11:24 pm

After several installs of Vista, I have come to the conclusion that either AVG free or Zonealarm free is killing the Vista activation crack process. It's just happened again on this pc after installing both these apps, before hand the activation wasn't required !

Has anyone else experienced this ?

I have experienced it as well. After installing Zone Alarm Free version
for vista, my operating system deactivated. I used Paradox crack to activate
Vista.

I noticed that after Zone Alarm was installed, a notification in the tray from microsoft appears saying that updates were installed. This happens even if windows updates is disabled.!!!

I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate Edition x86 Oem Permanently Actived Edition it has the ppf-o-matic3.exe to inject the correct certs etc into an iso before burning.

I think this caused Vista Lite to deactivate too.

Are you saying that you used Paradox before or after Zonealarm killed the activation ?

Another fresh install, this time using PC Tools Firewall Plus (free) and AVG free, all appears to be ok so far.

Ok, i can't test it right now myself.

1. The ZA comes with a MS Update that is not official, can someone report the KB number next time he / she installs ZA, . So we can investigate.

2. After the installation did anybody try to reinstall the crack, if so what did happen?

3. What did happen exactly, was the crack just disabled or removed?

That's what i can think of, please give full details,.. :)

@Daz99, thanks for the info

I tried reinstalling a couple of different cracks (sorry but I forget which one's), none of them had any effect at all.

I've found out about this problem three months ago and I've posted my solution to the problem. Using Vista with toolkit 1.5 + Zonealarm and everything is fine.

Thanks for the link !

Many users of this forum warned not to use this update so I always left it out. It was a big mistake. If you update Vista with this update and then use the activation toolkit it won't ever deactivate.

Which toolkit is that exactly ?

So if Zonealarm and AVG can detect/disable the vista crack, surley MS wont have any trouble in tackling it......................

KB-929547

Postby Malware » Thu Jul 12, 2007 8:40 pm

When you install ZA software it installs an unofficial MS patch KB-929547, this is what kills the Vista crack. It is part of ZA software.

And no, it is not listed on the MS site, it is a covert patch.
