not genuine vista uncrackable?

Postby brianfellow13 » Thu May 10, 2007 9:11 pm

I have been using a downloaded copy of windows vista for a good month now and a few days ago, I turned on my computer only to see a black screen in the background with "not genuine" in the bottom right hand corner. I had plenty days left to activate. I have no idea what happened...I get a menu which states i can either contact Microsoft, type in a new product key, or access my computer with many restrictions (meaning I can only run very small programs that can only use very small amount of memory and surf the net) I have scoured the internet looking and this grand website in search of a solution. I have tried over a dozen cracks, keygens, fixes and nothing seems to work. Whenever I get close I get a "not enough system quota error." Does anyone have a solution so I can get out of this hole? Thanks a bunch in advance.

Spend a little more time reading what is on thi s forum instead of jumping right out and asking a question that has already been answered - numerous times. Do a search for 'Reduced Functionality Mode' to find out how to relaunch Explorere.exe so you can reapply a working crack. If I might be so bold - I recommend you use the VOATK provided by Steve Jobs to insure that any previous cracks are uninstalled first, then apply the VistaLoader 2.1.2 crack - which should work.

Well, I got past the whole black screen and now back to the desktop. However, it will not let me rearm my vista. After going through the command promt and typing "slmgr.vbs -rearm" I get a window that says "Cannot Rearm". From what I have read, you need to obtain that 30 day trial again in order to install a crack. That and I keep getting the "not enough quota error" which I have also not found a solution for. Please help!

The rearm is not available either because your version of Visdta was released after Microsoft disabled the function, your system was updated to disable the function, or you have already exceeded the maximum number of rearm attemts allowed. In any case, there is nothing you can do to regain the ability other than to reinstall the computer.

Fortunately for you, you are incorrect in your assumption that rearm is necessary to apply a crack. The only crack that applies to is the Vista TimerStop crack which was released back in January. All of the current cracks function without regard to the rearm function.

Now, instead of asking for help again, why don't you try to do as you were advised?

I did try what I was advised. I am still getting "not enough quota" errors. I have tried closing down all the programs possible but I still get the same error for all the cracks I try. (tried VOATK and VistaLoader 2.1.2 crack about 4 times). I will keep searching...

i had this issue in my vm, when i was playing with the licensing of vista, and i did recover. bad news, i don't remeber how!

but for sure i did try the following and one of them did work,...

free up quota by closing applications
enter a product key matching the vista edition (you can find them here)
reinstall vista
changing the tokens.dat (upgrading or downgrading the edition, or change from oem to retail

let us now how it goes

Go to your temp folder... (Open Windows explorer, click in the Address bar and delete whatever is there, then enter %TEMP% and press Enter.) Select all files in this folder and delete them - these are remnants from various installers & programs you have run which are no longer needed.

Next, go to C:\Windows\temp and delete the files within it.

Run VOATK Tools (making sure you first extract it from any archive it is in) and select the option uninstall previous cracks. When VOATK Tools completes, install VistaLoader v2.1.2 (read the directions which come with it or are posted in the thread you got it from.)

I deleted all temp files and the not enough quota error is seen much less now... I retried the winodows activater...I Get a new error whenever I try to install or activate:

Script: C:\Windows\system32slmgr.vbs
Line: 291
Error: Permission Denied
Code: 800A0046
Source: Microsoft VBScript runtime error

EDIT:

I FINALLY GOT IT WORKING! I decided to try Steve's method of changing it retail and vista is now activated. I really aprreciate all the help!

Of course. My whole problem started with Microsoft discovering my copy of windows was not genuine. (I had no idea how this happened, I had at least 8 days to activate) No cracks or activaters would work. I would always get random errors or more commonly, the "not enough quota" error.

-First I followed the instructions to get out of reduced functionality mode (In Windows Explorer, press alt key, click file, go to open, type "C:\Winodws\System32.exe" and click through the following windows)

-Second I had to get rid of this quota error. Closing all the programs possible did not seem to do much but it gave me enough memory to download and use the VOTAK tools.

-Third, I uninstalled all attempted cracks using the VOTAK tools. After rebooting I used that same program to change my version of vista to retail (if this does not work, try Steve Jobs other methods in this topic) and installed the VistaLoader 2.1.2 crack.

-Rebooted and problem solved! Hope this helps some people out there. Thanks to nighttheif and Steve Jobs for all the help.
