Vista Network Helper v1.5

I’m a laptop user and connect frequently to new or different networks (wlan or lan) and I often come across the problem to connect to the internet. So I decided to make my own batch file to change the network settings to solve the issue.

Desiged for: Vista Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, Enterprise and Ultimate, Vista 32 bit and Vista 64 bit

Network Types: Wireless Network and Wired Network

Official Support: keznews/forum

Download:
http://share.gulli.com/files/176980572/ ... 5.exe.html
or
http://www.pirateshare.net/?id=8693190

Disable TCP Auto-Tuning can be used to solve following proplems:
* Poor intermittent network performance.
* Slow network loading.
* Unable to open and load some websites or webpages using Internet Explorer or Firefox, where the blue loading bar keeps running for a long time, but the pages fail to load.
* Java applets fail to download a and open.
* Cannot receive email or download from POP3 mail server by email clients such as Thunderbird.
* No mail arrived although users may see the message ''receiving 1 of 3 messages'', and eventually the receiving process will time outwith the error number 0×800CCC19 timeout.
* Slow email sending or retrieval using Thunderbird and other clients.

NEW Change TCP/IP Connection Limit: (Based on Defcon's patch and code)
*Once installed you can have 70,000 half open connections, these connections are temp connections anyways.
* You can change the limit to any setting you want.
* By increasing the limit you will be able to speed up P2P (Peer 2 Peer) applications like µTorrent, BitTorrent, BitComet, Azureus, BitSpirit, eMule (eDonkey network), BearShare, Direct Connect, DC++, ApexDC++, or even P2PTV such as PPLive, PPStream, Sopcast, TVAnts, Peer to Peer, Web server, FTP, and many other applications. Basically, it will make Torrents faster as well as all these other apps you need. :wink:

Installation:
* double click on the setup.exe - this will install and start the application
(maybe you have to run it as admin)

Uninstall:
* All changes can be reverted to the initial set up :wink:

Very Interesting.

I do almost all my computing on a laptop, and 80% of that is from wifi hotspots. So... I figured what the heck and decided to give this program a shot.
My connectivity is usually very good, but frequently I would find websites that would 'finish' but would continue to show they were still loading until the page was either refreshed or you hit 'stop.'
I've only been surfing with this about 2 hours so the results are in no way conclusive but after installing the VWNH (it's an .exe file that runs from the cmd line) and selecting the TCP auto tuning portion of the program, I rebooted the notebook and surfed across about 100 sites. Where in the past I've had perhaps 20% of those sites either loading slowly or 'loading perpetually' I've had 3 sites that have done this (surprisingly one was this Kez forum reply.)
I'd say the tweaks were beneficial and certainly did no harm (the first rule of tweaking: 'Don't blow it up!')
Current system this was applied on:
HP L2000 notebook / 1.8G Turion / Broadcom 802.11g internal wireless / 1G RAM

My only suggestion would be that showing changes made would be helpful.

I'd say very recommended! 2 thumbs up! Another success SJ! Thanks!

@rzalonis

thanks a lot for post :lol: and 'Kez Konnect' Award!

the only changes made is that the auto config is turned on or off which you could do manually each time by using command prompt which is more complicated and time consuming.

let me know if you want to see other functions in it, and i will add it to the next version.

false or not, dosen't really matter, there will be always people who will find something if the want to.

what your scans have found are trojan and backdoor, my application does change your network settings and can reset your ip which is a behavior of malware, so it's possible that a scan like yours will find something.

i can't do anything because this is the job of Wireless Network Helper, to change (enable or disable) your TCP autotuning.

i'm the author of the application and say that it contains no malware!

it's up to you if you want to trust a machine or me and use it

cheers

sj

issue solved, it's a false positive, http://www.abyssmedia.com/forum/trojan- ... -t100.html
