So Far, So GOOD... :o)

Postby Huskieguy731 » Tue Jan 30, 2007 8:12 pm

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post in this forum, I must admit, this is a group of people who are trying to help each other out!!

I downloaded and installed WinVista Ultimate RTM 6000 on: 1-18-2007.
I downloaded the following updates last night:

KB 905866
KB 929735
KB 930857
KB 931573
KB 928089
KB 929427

I also downloaded the Vista Extras, As I am typing this post, everything is
.... So Far, So GOOD!! :D

Just in case I do run into any problems, I created a image and backup my whole hardrive (Dual Boot - WinXP Home 2001 & WinVista RTM 6000). This way I don't have to go through all the trouble of reinstalling everything and running the TimeBomb crack again!! :D I will be back with more updates at a later time everyone.

PS ... Does anyone know if is ok to rename "TimerStop.sys" file? If this is ok, I heard this will keep future updates from running TimeBomb again.

I don't know why it is working for you. I fresh installed this morning, Installed ALL Updates, used timer crack, and the crack wouldn't stay working. The timer would re-enabled everytime I rebooted.

JANUARY 30, 2007 - UPDATE

Just installed Vista, all clean install.

My exact Steps:

1) Uplugged my Cable Modem
2) Set the Time-Date in Bios to Dec. 31, 2099
3) Booted the Vista DVD and installed a Vista Ultimate on a clean partition
4) During setup i left the Time/Date/Timezone unchanged
5) Once in Vista, changed the date/time to today (Jan.30/07)
6) Ran the repacked vistacrack (from this website) - http://rapidshare.com/files/11714216/crack.rar.html
7) Computer automatically rebooted
8) Upon restart, Vista gave a warning in the system-tray saying a program was trying to run at startup. (it was the crack)...I allowed it to run. THE CRACK WAS FINALISED!!!
9) Downloaded and installed all updates...EXCEPT KB931573
Also....I heard that in non-Ultimate Versions of Vista to avoid update:
KB929391
10) Rebooted my PC and let the computer apply all updates. Ran the check to make sure my crack was still working:
Start > Run > slmgr.vbs -dlv

EVERYTHING IS WORKING GREAT!!!

Any questions are welcome, will try to answer.

Cheers.

so KB931573 will disable the cracked versions like the older update did? im still sketchy about installing these, even tho i have backed up my system, i think ms would be able to inject a file or do something that would lock you out even after a backup restore.

who knows if they put something into an update that will take a week to activate and lock you out. etc etc. i will have to wait to install updates for a week or 2 and make sure they have no problems for that long.

I have a laptop on which I can not change the BIOS date/time. Does this mean that I can not install Vista or is there another way for guys like me? :)

Thanks in advance!

Got a general question to this whole RTM thing:
First off, thank you for providing all this stuff and it even seems to work quite well. ok now to the question: If i check the remaining time
->slmgr.vbs -dlv it shows that i still got 43200minutes left but does the crack has to start everytime i reboot my pc?
