Is it possible to move an Internet and Telephone modem without screwing up the Internet and Telephone lines? I have an XBox 360, and I want to move my modem to another room to connect it to the 360. Is it possible to move the modem, from one room to another, and still the get the internet and telephone?

What does it mean when I hear a modem connecting on the phone line after dialing a number? It's happened several times. Usually, the phone rings a while, and then I get an ear-piercing screech of a modem connecting, followed by the rest of the sounds modems make upon connection.
