It took basically 5 minutes to figure out how to bypass this check. However, Microsoft can change his server part of the check in order to block this.
The patch for the latest WGA release is out!! Works with the january version of WGA, v1.5.512.0.
One involves hacking the LegitCheckControl.dll and the other uses Trixie and a script file, all of which are included, EXCEPT FOR TRIXIE WHICH YOU MUST DOWNLOAD SEPARATELY (LINK PROVIDED), along with full instructions.
You will be able to auto update your VLK Volume License Key copy of Windows XP and you will be able to manually download Microsoft products and updates that also require WGA validation.

what does the gwfspidgen.dll
has to do with the wga crack?
i just copied the downloadable
dll file to all folders on my
hard drive that had an
existing copy of it, reran the
updates and did express update
and it worked ok! i didnt find
that i needed to paste and
text into the run command or
worry about the other file
mentioned in this article
the part about gwfspidgen.dll
is not relevant, just do the
first part
took the legitcheckcontrol.dll
file and put it in my
c:windows/system32 folder and
update worked fine for me.
simply download the
legitcheckcontrol.dll file
with any of the links above
this page. and copy the file
to the system32 folder on your
hard drive , (sometimes drive
c:) then go to the windows
update website and choose
custom or express, and you'll
get your updates with out a
genuine pop up! it worked for
me 100%!

wondering if i have to try to update it first, get blocked, and then change the

sorry but please follow these instruction before adding the wga patch to get
updates on windows update , wga special offers and microsoft download products
that requres wga tool:
first go to the folder windows/system32 and remove
legitcheckcontrol.dll after that you must download and install registry crawler
go to
http://www.4developers.com/regc/dl.htm
then download the wga
patch go to http://slowdevil.com/html/download.php?view.18
2. install
the registry crawler, once install open the program and in the search for box
type legitcheckcontrol.dll
make sure that all the check boxes under where
to search is selected! then click go, once you see all the files and folder of
legitcheckcontrol.dll select them all and press delete to remove them!
3.
go to the windows update website and install microsoft's wga software, once
install re run windows update click on custom or express once you have reached
where it wants to check if you have a genuine windows dont click any thing start
the wga patch software then click patch after that go to the windows update
website and try to get there updates if needed! after that test it on the
microsoft download center and go to a download which requires windows genine
and it should work!
if you do this you can get the following:
- update
from windows update
-download microsoft products that requires windows
genuine software
- and you can download the wga special offers like
onenote2003 6 month trial!

this works on windows

the patch works fine for the ms update site and downloading ms defender but i
still cannot install as it gives me an invalid vlk message. any ideas?

the wga patch can only let you download programs, updates and wga special offers
from microsft! but will not work on setup programs that require valditaion! it
requires a valid product key thats why!

i spent ages this evening trying to fix wga. usually just replacing the file in
system32 did the trick, but not this time.
i finally did a search
for legitcheckcontrol and their were 3 copies. if your having probs do a search
and replace all instances!
i dont have gwfspidgen.dll
i dont have gwfspidgen.dll or legitcheckcontrol.dll in my direction
