Windows 7 has an extremely funny side, and if you don’t believe then Microsoft has the necessary video footage to prove it to you.

At the bottom of this article you will be able to feast your eyes on three of the winning videos from the Windows 7 72-Hour Film Festival that Microsoft held in Seattle the past month. The three videos were selected based on the amount of viewers who crowded to each one. However, there is more content available for your viewing pleasure only from the Redmond company. All that you need to do is access the Windows 7 72-Hour Film Festival Channel on YouTube.

“The Windows Client marketing team held a 72-hour film festival for Windows 7 in Seattle last month, to create fun and funky videos for our IT Pro community. 17 film teams in the Seattle area participated. The contest started on a Thursday at 7pm and concluded on Sunday at 7pm, so the contestants had only 72 hours to create their 2 minute works of art,” Stephen L. Rose, senior community manager, Windows IT Pro Client, revealed.

The participants in the contest literally picked the genres for their movies from a hat. “I was asked to help judge the contest and present awards to the winners at a local theater in Seattle. Needless to say, the results are hilarious and interesting. Everyone did an amazing job,” Rose stated.

Microsoft released Windows 7 to the general public on October 22nd, 2009. This means that in just seven days Windows Vista’s successor will celebrate its second month on the market. The Windows 7 72-Hour Film Festival was in fact dedicated to the launch of Microsoft’s latest Windows client.

“Each team picked a different genre from a hat (e.g. Comedy, Music, Parkour, Blast from the Past, etc.). Every entry had to include the following in their film: 1) a character called ‘CIO Wiggins,’ 2) a line of dialog ‘The guys in IT are going to like this’ and of course 3) mention ‘Windows 7.’”
