you listed avira 3rd after avg and mse?
sheesh.
avg is pretty much as good as
having nothing. 90% os infected machines i deal with on a daily basis are running avg as
their av. we use avira as a primary scanner at work and it is pretty damn good at what it
does. it has a small footprint as well which is great for slower machines.
yeah man... avira is really good. i'm using it now and its been running smooth =)
i had a malware infested system come to me as the user profile got corrupted and avg was
the av and it did not stop it and though it was severly lacking security updates and very
vulnerable apps for god knows how long yet avg failed to protect it.the only problem with
mse is that if you try to open a screensaver it hangs for like 5 minutes then when you van
finaly open a screensaver it still hangs for a few mins and it does the same for all.
i guess that kaspersky is the best protection that one can use with windows 7
why isnt avast 5 listed??
only comodo!
best av is ubuntu 9.10
ubuntu can suk my **** and mse is pretty kick ass, and thats saying a lot since it is a
microsoft product
panda cloud out performed all the other free av in a recent test.
it appears to run a 64-bit application...at least when you check the running services. i
know avast, my fav, still runs in 32-bit mode.
avira free is great but why does it have a nag window every so often when i start the pc,
it's a pain in the butt so i have avast.
ok.......................................................................................
.....................................yes. :-*

i am a tech and have been working for over 15 years and have used super antispyware on

hours and lots of headache check it out here there is a free version

kaspersky internet security suite 2010

avast
avira

now 1 important thing here is that
when you install an antivirus and antispyware in an windows enviroment, it needs to be
clean when you do otherwise it will always be corrupted, this is especially true with
avast for it to work 100% effeciently and effectively.
2nd thing here:
i
am a tech and work in several forums around the internet. i have alot of knowledge about
pc`s also. there is better scanners to run online than those that were mentioned and also
ones to check for application control and firewall effectiveness on a machine which have
not been mentioned here at all!!!......and you call yourselfs pc techs???....lol....too
bad you dont know who i am then you could find out some tips that would make life so much
easier even what jason has mentioned about superantispyware ( it is an excellent program
but not the best out there either) it does miss some infections im afraid. this is all i
have to say here. goodbye to all.
