FREE Windows 7 Ultimate for Connect beta testers
section: windows, for your questions: KezNews forum, 31.7.2009
Tip: Click here to update all your PC's outdated driversLast week, I blogged that members of the Windows Technical Beta Program would not be receiving a complimentary copy of Windows 7.
Normally I hate to be wrong but in this case, I’m stoked that I am.
To show our appreciation, members of the invitation-only Windows 7 Technical Beta Program will be eligible for a free, final copy of Windows 7 Ultimate. For more information on how to take advantage of this, refer to Paul’s post in the .Beta_Program newsgroup for details.
Tell Paul that Brandon sent you - and be sure to thank him!

where can i find the beta_program newsgroup?
i can't find it either
wat bout us hard working public beta testers
listen. windows vista has been out a few years...oem hack has always worked..they cannot
"fix" it..it activates before the os even starts up. and for windows 7 being able to
"detect" hacks, why does it have to go to windows update before it even detects
it..cause ms are liars lol...there is no detection..it has to go to wu to even know..and
then it will just reactivate anyway.
could not have said it any better myself
i have teted windows 7 it still dont beat linux mint 7
i want a free key from microsoft. beta testing caused me to loose a pc
linux is crap, try playing the best games on it
razor, how the hell is linux crap? it all depends on what you are looking for in an os to
cater for your needs. take backtrack 3 / pre final 4 for example, and we all know what it
is used for ;) and from my experience backtrack does what it does best far better than
windows ever could.
so don't start saying linux is crap you moron just because
you can't play on what your lame games.
i been on the beta team for the duration and it is pendent on bug submission whether or
not you get a free copy... got mine coming..
linux always will be big crap. years behind from windows. good luck linux-geeks retards.
whatever you want to say, just keep your poor opinion about for yourself
windows has been using the same file system (ntfs) for over a decade now, while linux
users now enjoy the new ext4 file system, released only a few months ago.
linux
is not a gaming platform. saying that linux is crap just because you can't play cool
games on it is like saying a microwave is crap because it doesn't wash dishes. i have yet
to see a windows distribution with the stability, reliability, and raw working power of
red hat linux. (dual boot if you have to)
saying that one cannot play games on
linux is a lie! sure, popular developers like ea and ubisoft, etc. do not release their
publications to linux users... for a number of reasons. but there are games that are made
for linux. not just the silly ones (tux racer) ut also some cool ones (warsow, wesnoth,
penumbra, amerca's army). the fact that most games for linux are open source makes it
very difficult for the average pc gamer to look at linux gaming as a 'profitable'
experience. most gamers get scared by the numerous geeky stuff like configuring xorg,
installing the odd proprietary driver (sometimes manually) or even compiling software,
missing dependancies, and the list goes on. but if you can't handle having to configure a
game yourself, then you are just another pc gamer who just wants 'instant gratification'
and 'plug-and-play' and all that worldly stuff. if you can't work for your fun, then
you are lazy.
open source games are great. they are free, they are fun, they
are community built, and you can do anything you want with the code (provided you have the
guts to learn the language).
a word to the gamers who completely misunderstand
linux: if you spend hours playing games on your pc or console (unless its older than a
nintendo 64) but do not offer any contribution to the open source community, then dump
your rig in a trash can and go find something worthwhile to do.
