Tip: Click here to update all your PC's outdated driversMost of the users are still on Windows 7 Beta Build 7000 and Windows 7 RC Build 7100 since those were the two Windows 7 Builds which was distributed under Public Preview.
Windows 7 Beta users must upgrade to Windows 7 RC as after July 01, 2009 Windows 7 Beta has started Bi hourly shutdown and will expiry on August 1, 2009 whereas Windows 7 RC will expire on June 2010.
Windows 7 RTM build 7600.16385 is already singed off and handed to OEM partners as well as it has been leaked on popular torrent websites. If you are attempting to upgrade Windows 7 RC/Beta to Windows 7 RTM setup will give you an error message saying: You cannot upgrade this prerelease version of Windows 7. Go online to see how to install Windows 7 and keep your files and settings.
That’s because Windows 7 RTM was build to block all versions prior to 7233. Like we had published guide on how to upgrade windows 7 Beta to Windows 7 RC same guide is still applicable here,
How to Upgrade Windows 7 RC/Beta to Windows 7 RTM
1. Mount Windows 7 RTM Build 7600 ISO and Extract content to any folder or USB drive
2. Now go to Sources folder of Windows 7 and open “cversion.ini” file in notepad
3. Modify the “MinClient” build number to a value lower than your installed Windows 7 Build. For example, change 7233 to 7000 if you have Windows 7 Beta Build installed.
[HostBuild]
MinClient=7000.0
MinServer=7100.0
4. Save the updated file to the same location and then run setup.exe to start Windows 7 RC upgrade process.
That’s it, Now follow on Screen instructions and choose Upgrade option.

after upgrading to rtm will you end up with a fully functional activated version of w7?
or, will it be good until 3-2010.
and here ts is.... the first dumb and stupid question of the day.. congrats...
mr or mrs who knows,
you have the right not to answer, but you have no right to
blame who ask.
so take it easy, man!
i guess you need a rtm-key to activate the rtm after upgrading. if you don't have one,
it won't work at all, i think... ;-)
my comps battery got flat so when march does come my computer will stick to the date my
bios was manufactured(aka. few days b4 i bought my comp)
yo dumbass "who knows" first i want to say thx for thinking my question was stupid.
but as i can see your worthless comment goes to show me that you are an ignorant jerk. i
guess i have to spend time to explain my question as if i was asking it to a ten year old.
secondly, i’m just curious.
this trick was posted earlier in this month. i
want to know if this will continue to work with my rc keys without having to reinstall w7
after march of 2010. or, do i need a rtm key, you know, a legal bunch of numbers and
letters that will activate your w7. microsoft is not stupid; they had time to close this
loophole b4 it went rtm. so i guess for this trick to work, you would need a rtm key.
if you still don’t understand the question go ask mommy.
btw just so you’ll know, i
do plan on buying this software i’m not interested in spending my time trying find
activation cracks that ms will obviously patch.
sorry from my part and from others who try to keep polite and answer the questions or
comments in this place, anyway, to answer your question, yes, the rc crak will work, but
also activates the time bomb so the systems gets operational until march. to activate,
you need the final key, or rtm key, i'm going to buy it, and also testing other methods
of activation, to know what to expect.
will this work also to upgrade from 7600-16384 to 7600-16385?
cheers
i'm trying it right now, so far so good
cheers
thank you gaevs. right now i am running w7 rc 7264 and was planning on reinstalling my
os. i wanted to try this trick. i just wanted to know if it would expire. i also want to
know if anyone had success with it.
well, the truth is i have't updated, i just used the transfer wizard to make a copy of
my files and format my pc.. i think is better in the long run, i don't know if it's not
an option for you..
i have build 7057 on my laptop and it will not let me upgrade for some reason. i got the
rtm and i changed the minclient like this post says...but when i go to install and does
nothing, just clicks when i press it but does not begin to load or anything. i've even
tried to run the rc build on there and it does the same thing?!?! can someone who's
knowledgeable assist me!! mrpacijr2(at)yahoo.com
what does the original minclient say for versions in 7600? does it actually have 7233 in
the original file?
