Tip: Click here to update all your PC's outdated driversGood news from the kingdom of Redmond, fellow geeks; we've finally been given a more precise (though still not as precise as one could get) release date for Windows 7, the next operating system to come from Microsoft.
Word comes from a PressPass article, and while it may be vague, it's still official.
Bill Veghte, who is senior vice president of the Windows Business at Microsoft, stated, "With early RC testing and extensive partner feedback we've received, Windows 7 is tracking well for holiday availability." This sits well with Acer's prediction (or maybe more than a prediction) that Windows 7 will hit shelves October 23rd, but it was pretty widely accepted that we'll see the new operating system by the end of the year anyway. Whether Acer's date is valid or not, who knows, but it very well could be.
Good news, and expect more to be available shortly on the matter (hopefully). As usual, you'll be able to find it right here on Neowin.

after careful analyzation i can report that windows 7 is an empty shell without a viable
email client. features are zip... this opens the door (wide) for the linux distros.
why the hurry _ to make more money
to whozzit
email was moved out to a seperate package.
more like biases
analyzation. do some research!
windows 7 is going to be what vista wasn't.
fair doos to linux but get a grip people. the door for linux has been wide open for years,
