Tip: Click here to update all your PC's outdated driversA question that’s hitting my inbox a lot lately: Should I be starting to think about upgrading to Windows 7?
I’ve been running Windows 7 on several systems now for a number of months. I first got my hands on the Windows 7 beta just before the Holidays last year (about two weeks before the official release of the beta), and so I’ve been running post build 7000 builds for almost four months. I have Windows 7 installed on several desktops, notebooks and on one netbook, so I have quite a lot of Windows 7 face time under my belt. Over the months I’ve run the OS alongside Vista and XP, as well as non-Microsoft OSes such as Ubuntu and Mac OS X so I’ve had a chance to experience the ups and downs of Microsoft’s latest OS.
How I answer the question depends on the type of user asking me, because each market segment has different requirements. Let’s look at three kinds of user, starting with the home user, and consider how they should approach Windows 7.

upgrade when you're ready. no drama necessary.
i hear steve job's retiring
due to lack of ideas. goodday, motherpuckers...
xp is old and unsupported, so is server 2003 for you server-as-a-desktop types.
vista is nice, but has some issues compared to 7.
i wanted to like windows 7, i really really did. i still do. i cant believe the guy in
the article has so many machines running 7. i also tried 7 on a handful of machines. my
results were less than fun. 7 hates xp !!!! networking between machines is a royal mess. 7
also tied up my network and literally disabled almost all my traffic. this is my only
complaint about windows 7, however its a major issue that will blow up in ms's face again
and cause all kinds of havoc when released...like vista , remember the drivers issue. this
issue with 7 will not be so easily solved having to rely on 3rd party vendors.
windows 7 is in beta so of course there will be network issues. stop being a pansy and
start complaining when you actually get your hands on retail.
vista is fine
windows 7 is defantly worth the time. an as far as "jobs" goes he never said he was
retiring, he implied that he during his current vacation time. he said he injoys being
with he family and that is somthing he is not sure he wants to give up. don't be so quick
to judge him, remember the idea of windows started as a cheap knoke off of mac. so if
anyone was running out of ideas it's gates as he used a stolen idea to create windows!
i switched my work laptop to 7 in febuary when beta 7000 came out, haven't had any
problems. just downloaded 7057, threw it on a spare drive. caught 99.9% of the hardware.
missed the bluetooth card driver.
downloaded the xp version from dell, no biggie.
better than xp/sp2...missed the video card, sd/mmc, bluetooth, wi-fi, sata drivers. if
you've used xp for a long time, finding stuff in the control panel will take a bit of
getting use to, and you'll want (if you are an "expert" to turn off uac.
servocrow, ive installed 7 and it has no issues linking to my xp machine nor high
traffic. i think you have a bad hardware config for the betas
